Allexis Rae: Mormon.

Hi, I'm Allexis Rae

About Me

I'm a college student. I enjoy singing, playing piano and organ, bowling, board games, and spending time with my family. I love serving the people around me and I'm a Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

While I was raised in the church by my parents, I choose to continue to be active in the Church because of the love I have for my Heavenly Father. He blesses me with so much in my life, including with the gift of His son's sacrifice for me and all mankind. The Atonement has a healing power that has helped me in my life. I am a happier person because of the gospel and am thankful for its presence in my life.

Personal Stories

What blessings have come through your faith in Jesus Christ?

My life has been innumerably blessed because of my faith in Jesus Christ. One big blessing for me was an experience that happened recently, the effects of which I still feel today. I was in a head-on collision at the end of 2009, in between semesters at college while I was at home. I fractured a cheekbone, a divot of bone was removed from my knee, my foot received a compound fracture and a couple of my toes were broken. Based on the state of the vehicle, it is a miracle I am alive. And that is not the only miracle: my injuries in my face and foot healed remarkably and without complication. I have received a donor to replace the missing material in my knee and I am walking again. My faith has helped me through this trial as I have received comfort from the Holy Ghost to know that God has a purpose in this life and in my trials for me and that if I trust Him, everything will work out. I know that God loves me and has a plan for me, and that even though I do not have all the answers, I do not need them because I know I am in God's hands, and He knows what is best for me. I am alive today because of God's hand in my life, and my faith in Him brings me closer to Him.

How I live my faith

I share my talents and time with others in my church and in my community. I lead a choir in singing praises to the Lord. I associate with the friends I make through activities. I serve in whatever capacity the Lord sees fit to have me do, even if it is as seemingly insignificant as organizing a blood drove. I try to live as Christ did by developing the characteristics he exhibited.
