About Me

Hello, my wife and I live in Utah in a suburb of Salt Lake City. I work in computers and databases and also run a mobile DJ business. I enjoy going to the movies and have a passion for music. I play the drums and the guitar and have played is some local bands.

Why I am a Mormon

I have experienced and felt the love, compassion, forgiveness, and peace that only my Savior can provide. Through study of the Bible, The Book of Mormon, and other scriptures, I have learned and developed what I feel is a very personal relationship with my Savior. I know that he lives; I know that he loves me and is there for me. As I have gone through difficult times, I have learned to turn to him and found that he carries me through. By trying to live His gospel I and my family have found true happiness.

Why do Mormons go on missions?

I chose to serve a mission because of my love for my Savior. He has done more for me than words can express and I love Him with all my heart. He asked that I put my personal life on hold for two years and dedicate that time to His service. What I found was that when I lost myself in his service, I found myself. I learned what was really important and my love and appreciation for Him grew. As I reflect on my missionary service, it shaped my life for the better and I give thanks to for the blessings He has given me.

How I live my faith

I am very active in my local ward and community. I have had several opportunities to serve within the church. I currently have the great blessing to serve as a member of the Bells on Temple Square handbell choir to share my faith and testimony though music. I also had the opportunity to serve the people of Paraguay and Virginia as a missionary.

What do Mormons believe about family?

The family is central to our Heavenly Father’s plan. Because of Jesus Christ and His sacrifice for each and every one of us, the family does not need to be parted at the end of this life, but can remain together forever.

The family is a key component to support us in God's plan for gaining immortality and eternal life. All of God's children (all the inhabitants that lived, are living, and will live on Earth) are inseperably connected to each other, both (physically) by our Earthly families and (spiritually) by our Heavenly Father.

Families help us to understand our divine heritage. In this, life takes on purpose and meaning. Our immortal spirits were created by our Heavenly Father before Earthly existance, and we are directly connected to Him in this way. As a spiritual family, our collective purpose on Earth is to follow the commandments of God that lead us to live in heaven with Him again.

Our spirits need to progress, learn, and grow. In order to achieve that, Earthly existance was created as our test. Our Heavenly Father knew that being exposed to opposing forces on Earth was the only way for us to gain knowledge and wisdom.

However, we will not always choose righteousness, and so our Savior, Jesus Christ, is that great mediator to pay the debt of our mistakes. He is the only way by which we can be saved from our sins and transgressions. He is the ultimate example by which direction we need to live our lives. With the support of our earthly kin, we can learn from each other, serve each other, and strengthen our mortal weaknesses by being disciples of Christ. Our families are a gift from God, and we can be together forever.

Why don’t women hold the priesthood in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints? How do Mormon women lead in the Church?

As a primary president in my ward, I share in the direction and leadership of our ward. I don't feel secondary in any way. Whether you have the priesthood or not, you are still responsible to listen to the direction of the Savior. The priesthood is a tool and power that is the same power of the Savior. It allows the human authority to do work on earth, particularly perform ordinances, and bless others. As if the Savior was here in person during His ministry accounted for in the New Testament. I would use an analogy to compare the priesthood as a car. A car is an amazing tool allowing you to get you from here to there. I don't mind my husband driving and I can offer some navigation or work the radio, as long as we and our children get there.
