I live with my wife and little girl in the DC area. I enjoy going to work, studying, playing StarCraft and being with my family.
I grew up in Mormon family but never really had a strong appreciation for the church until I served a mission in Chile. During my mission I learned for myself that the promise in Moroni is true: 'And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost.' More specifically, I learned that the LDS church is the true church and that it is led by God.
Understanding the Plan of Happiness brings me hope and helps me to know that my goals and efforts are meaningful. It also helps guide my efforts.
It provides an opportunity for friendship. My own faith is built by getting to know others who have strong faith.
I think the biggest reason I went on a mission was because I was expected to. I felt the church, my family, and the Lord expected me to.
I spend time every week helping to make our stake center presentable. The building is used by four wards, so a lot of issues come up. I also visit and teach two great families every month to fulfill my home teaching assignments. Every once in a while I teach Sunday school.
