Hi, I'm Jerry
I'm a Mormon. I love life & the beautiful plan of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
About Me
I am an engineer. I love to design & build machinery & equipment to the help and betterment of mankind. It's a privilege to work with many others to see the fulfillment of creativity & imagination. I have loved and am married to one woman for over 25 years, and together we have been blessed with six amazing children who fill our lives with music, happiness, & surprise every day. The oldest of our children was taken from the earth too soon (just 18 years of age), but having the gospel of Jesus Christ in our lives brought the peace and comfort needed at a time of great sadness & grief
Why I am a Mormon
I am a Mormon, because everything in this church centers around Jesus Christ. We love Him. We worship Him. We try to pattern our lives after His example. Our youth are taught to Follow Him through giving meaningful service to others, and that greater happiness is found through serving others than in serving self. Three of our children have had the opportunity to share the gospel with people in other countries: Thailand, Taiwan, & Russia. They have had marvelous experiences and found that barriers of language, culture, & uncertainty are overcome with Love, kindness, & friendship. Our younger children sing; I'm trying to be like Jesus. I am Mormon because of the High standards that are held by our faith.
Personal Stories
How can your talents and gifts bless others?
Our family loves music. Music has great power to inspire goodness. It is practically impossible to be angry at another human being while singing: "I am a child of God, and He has sent me here..." The hymns of the church, often sung at home provide powerful opportunities to share faith, belief, love, THERE TRULY IS BEAUTY ALL AROUND WHEN THERE'S LOVE AT HOME.
How has the Book of Mormon brought you closer to God?
The Book of Mormon teaches mankind to LOVE GOD & ALL MANKIND.
It teaches us to: PRAY OFTEN, in one's private chambers and with one's family
It gives examples of how to grow faith in God and offers the challenges to TEST PRINCIPLES on one's own family.
It WITNESSES the JESUS CHRIST is the SAVIOR OF THE WORLD.
It teaches that CHOICES have ETERNAL consequences
It teaches that LITTLE CHILDREN ARE PURE before Christ
Can you think of a specific challenge in your family that Gospel Principles helped overcome?
We lost a daughter to death at 18 years of age. It was the day she graduated from High School. This is the hardest kind of loss. There are no words to describe how grateful we were for the powerful witness of life after death, the peace & the comfort given to us at the time of her death. This occurred because of our understanding of God's Plan of Happiness, His gift of the Comforter, and the accompanying hope for Eternal Life...in a beautiful place that far surpasses our current understanding.
How I live my faith
I have enjoyed many years of working with the youth in our church. I love to see the enthusiasm in their souls when they realize just how much potential for good they have on the earth. They have taught me much more than I have taught them. My Faith has been built every day of my life through the simple observations of growth in others when they give meaningful service to others.
