Thaddeus: Mormon.

Hi, I'm Thaddeus

I'm a mechanical engineer and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Utah and I recently received my masters degree in mechanical engineering and began working as a infrared sensor calibration engineer. I like playing ultimate frisbee and volleyball. I enjoy a good slurpee.

Why I am a Mormon

I've done a lot of religious studying, both the spiritual and scholarly types. In reading the Book of Mormon and the Bible I found good, delicious doctrines. In prayer I found that Father confirmed these teachings. In studying Joseph Smith and the origins of the Book of Mormon I found tremendous support for his miraculous story. And, in living close to the Lord's teachings I found peace.

Personal Stories

Please explain the part prayer plays in your life?

Prayer is a daily pleasure. Life is tough to get through alone, but knowing I can rely on help from my heavenly Father gives me confidence.

He will give help, even on very ordinary tasks. I recall doing homework in the library for my Advanced Dynamics course and banging my head against a particular concept. I could not understand it. As the hours drew on, I reminded myself of the love of God and I bowed my head in silent prayer pleading for help. Just a minute later, the puzzle pieces seemed to come together and I figured out my error. It was very quick work after that.

Answers to prayers such as this have given me courage to ask again and again for help from a wise Father. He is generous and liberal in providing aid and advice.

How I live my faith

I am the ward executive secretary in my congregation, which is a fancy way of saying I take care of the bishop's busy interview schedule. The bishop meets with members of his ward frequently to provide counsel and assistance and teach them how to fully repent and get right with the Lord.

Bishops will meet with and counsel nonmembers, too, so if you need that kind of help, set up an appointment through your local ward executive secretary.
