Hi, I'm Paul
I'm a Swimmer. I'm a Mormon
About Me
I am immobile, because I was born with Cerebral Palsy. I can still walk and swim, but I am a hemi-plegic, which means that one of my arms, and one of my legs is crippled. I like to smile a lot. It makes people happy.
I take a bus to get around. I like to swim, run, watch good movies, and build quality relationships, that last. Building those relationships is easier when I can surround myself with the right kind of people. That's one reason my Church is so good, for me. Wherever I go in my Church, I am surrounded by people I would like to make my friends.
Why I am a Mormon
I am a Mormon because I know I am happy in my Church. I feel like my best is good enough, in my Church. I feel like I have friends. I feel like I can get help in my Church. I feel like I can make a meaningful contribution, in my Church. It is the greatest thing I have found.
Personal Stories
Why/How do you share the gospel with your friends?
I like to share the gospel by giving a Church Media Card to a stranger. The Media Card shows different publications of the church, like the cover to a Church Video that depicts Christ's life, or a picture of the Bible. And the card has on it a telephone number, so they can order a free copy on their own.
When I know that I am giving someone the chance to change their life for the better, I feel so good inside. And to the stranger who orders the book or the video, they can do just that.
Please share your feelings/testimony of the Restoration of the Gospel.
It is the gospel being restored on the earth that allows me to feel hope for the future, both hope for today, and hope for my life after death.
I know that as I choose the right, God is with me to bring me peace and safety. And I know, because of the revelation given to a modern prophet that my family can live happily again, together after death.
Think about your everyday activities. What are things you act upon each day where you cannot see the end results? How does faith move you to action?
Every morning I log on to my Church Website and I search out my ancestors. Because we are all children of our Heavenly Father, our Heavenly Father wants to be with each of us again, like parents want to be with their children.
Because we all must make a keep sacred covenants with Heavenly Father in order to be with Him in the next life, and because some of our bothers and sisters here on earth did not have the opportunity to make those covenants, I can find my ancestors each morning to make sure that they too, are able to make covenants with God, and live with their Father in joy, forever.
And I know it brings my Heavenly Father joy that I take the time to help unite his children with Him. I love Him and I feel joy, knowing that I have brought joy to Him.
I believe that because I have made covenants with my Heavenly Father, to serve Him diligently, I have promised Him that I will seek out my ancestors. And I trust that God will keep his promises to me while I keep my sacred promises with Him. I demonstrate faith in those promises by finding my ancestors.
How I live my faith
I love to see my friends enjoy the blessings of the gospel. On a monthly basis I visit friends in my Church and share a gospel message with them, so they don't forget to keep the commandments. In my heart I feel so much peace every time I do that. And I know it's God's way of telling me thank you, for helping His children to remember him.
