Hi, I'm Shannon Dawn
I am a mother, a teacher, a music lover, a reader, a Mormon.
About Me
I love to read romance novels and mysteries. I love to workout at the gym and listen to my favorite music too loud. I love to teach my students - special education is my passion. I am a mother and enjoy volunteering with my kids activities.
Why I am a Mormon
I'm a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints because as a teen, I felt something was missing from my very full life. I was headed to college and had my course mapped out but kept asking the question, "what was all this for?" The gospel gives me the answer. I am a Child of God with a unique purpose on this Earth. I have gifts to share and lessons to learn so I embrace the challenges and beauty of this life. I am so grateful to know the path I need to walk to return to my home in Heaven to live with Heavenly Father and Christ.
How I live my faith
I live my faith by teaching seminary, bible study for high school aged youth in my congregation, and recently I also lead the Webelos Cub Scouts. I also visit a small group of adult women in our congregation, fellowshipping and loving them - visiting teaching is the formal name. I live my faith by praying daily for guidance and to live a balanced life. I strive to be a positive influence in my family and my community. I read scriptures and other inspired writings from gospel scholars to increase my faith in the Lord. I smile and try to have a kind word to those I see.
