Hi, I'm Marc
I am a Latter-day Saint from Germany.
About Me
Hi, I am a member of the Church from Germany. I am a student of business law and try to go to Church every week. I joined the Church on August 29, 2009.
Why I am a Mormon
The Church is a great place to gain knowledge of Jesus Christ and the gospel and the application on the daily life. The Reverend Billy Graham in a "Meet the Press" interview once said: "There is a great deal of Church going in America, but we fail to apply the faith on our daily lives". Insert your location in the bracket, where currently America is written and you will see the same result. The Church is also a place of activity and therefore being member is a constant fun. Even before joining Church I always tried to pray to the Lord, but praying with the Gift of the Holy Ghost, is more serious and more prosperous for me.
Personal Stories
How can we develop greater harmony in our homes?
The three basic rules must be: Staying clean (use proper language, dress yourself well), Staying just (be a role model for your children, be a good wife or husband or child), Staying alive (don't write yourself down in life and live life in the fullest extent with Jesus Christ).
Why do Mormons do family history or genealogy work?
Family history is an important part of learning about yourself, you see yourself in a broader, global context. Having genealogy work reveals where you come from. In order to know your future, you need to know your past.
How has attending Church services helped you?
Going to Church each Sunday helps you in gaining insight into your own soul and helps you tackling problems with the Lord Jesus Christ in a broader context. In Church you learn important life lessons which no one else can provide.
Please explain the part prayer plays in your life?
Prayer is a pivotal time in my life. I pray each evening for my family and relatives and try to communicate with God by praying. Praying helps you understand the instructions God has for you. I also pray when I am in trouble and most of the time it helps.
Which of the Savior’s teachings have influenced you in your life?
The most important teaching is "repentance". Whenever you do something wrong, you have to repent before the Lord. Since the concept of repentance includes that you shouldn't do the mistake again, you can become a more consummate human being.
Could you talk about your baptism?
After been taught for a couple of months, and teaching myself a lot about the Gospel, the big day came. In order to come before the Lord I had to be dressed white. Normally I think a lot during my life, there is rarely a minute when I don't think about some thing, but when I was baptized by immersion, in that second, I had no thoughts. A has been an awesome second then. Baptism is a great day.
Why/How do you share the gospel with your friends?
I share the gospel in being a good friend to them and strive to be a role model to them. Using the gospel in helping friends is a great thing to do.
How has the Holy Ghost helped you?
The Holy Ghost is a guidance in life. It's like a veil that keeps you from doing evil and performs good things for other people. It helped me in overcoming crisis, staying sane in a troublesome world and be honest to other people. It's like the invisible voice that guides you.
How has your knowledge of the Plan of Happiness changed/benefited your life?
The Plan of Happiness helped me being an optimistic person who has a lasting and steadfast sense of humor even in dark times. It also benefits the relationship with other people since you are more open to them.
How can your talents and gifts bless others?
Whenever I have a good standing amongst my peers, I can lead by example. Leading by example among your friends can be a huge blessing, since they trust you more and that brings a more friendly atmosphere in the relationship with other people. Being spiritual also helps you helping others in precarious situations. Whenever someone is in trouble, the Lord guides me to help them. By helping them, they get blessed and I get blessed. It's like a win-win situation.
How I live my faith
I am going to Church every week, visit the Institute classes where I learn a lot about the Book of Mormon and the application of the book on my daily life. I also read the front page of the Deseret Morning News so I am able to apply current political/social problems in turning them into personal solutions to deal with them.
