Jim: Mormon.

Hi, I'm Jim

I have a military background and recently started a new career in technical communication. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I come from a large family and have 11 children of my own. Life is never dull, whether it's spending time with my family, learning a new job, continuing my education, trying to stay fit, or serving my fellowman. Thanks to 22 years in the Army and the many congregations we've been a part of, we have many friends from around the world.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon, because I know the principles we follow are true. I have tried and tested them and have been blessed at every turn when I applied the things that I have learned. The church changed my life so much for the better, that after almost 30 years of activity, I have never looked back. While the bedrock of my testimony is the many witnesses I've received from the Holy Ghost, there are still many other things that help give me a foundation of stone. I know that where God lives is a clean and pure place, and that we as imperfect mortals could have no hope of returning there if not for the atonement of Jesus Christ. Mortality is short and one day soon we all will have to give an accounting of our stewardship. It is my hope that I never take for granted the great sacrifice that the Son of God gave for all mankind.

Personal Stories

How has the Holy Ghost helped you?

Through the Gift of the Holy Ghost I have gained a sure knowledge that God exists, that he loves his children, and that he has not left us alone to stumble through mortality without understanding the reason we are here or what the future holds for us beyond this life. Through the Holy Ghost I have witnessed God's love poured out upon all who are willing to receive it and I know he can guide us through even the mundane affairs of mortality. Above all, the Holy Ghost testifies of the divinity and mission of Jesus Christ and teaches us the truth of all things.

How I live my faith

The church provides an organization that makes it easier to serve one another. My family has been greatly blessed through the years from dedicated members who have taught, coached, and set wonderful examples for my children as they've grown. In every congregation we've been in as we've traveled around the world, there were great role models who did their best to pattern their lives after the Savior. These members inspire me in my opportunities to serve, whether it's scouting, teaching or assisting others with spiritual or physical needs, or a myriad of other opportunities I've had to serve, they all have developed my faith and love for my fellow man.
