Amanda: Mormon.

Hi, I'm Amanda

It's nice to meet you! I'm glad to be a Mormon.

About Me

I like my husband. He goes to school for English literature, I work full-time as an editor and sometimes I work as his personal editor. We eat good food and watch good movies and read good books.

Why I am a Mormon

I believe that being Mormon is a way to live that will make me happier than anything else and will last longer than anything else in this world, because it's not of this world. The gospel comes from a loving God, and it tells me that He knows who I am and that He loves me and blesses me every day. Being Mormon gives me real purpose in my life.

Personal Stories

How has the Holy Ghost helped you?

The Holy Ghost helps me to live in an uncertain world with an abiding peace. There are so many things that we don't know and can't answer. There are so many lurking dangers that we can't anticipate.

Especially when these questions plague my future, it's easy to become disabled by the fear and anxiety I feel. But through the Holy Ghost, those feelings are replaced by comfort, peace, and assurance. Even though many questions are still unanswered, I know that it doesn't matter, and I don't need to know all of the answers. I don't know what's going to happen in my life, but that's all right, because through the Holy Ghost, I know there is a plan for me and my family. I know that we can be together forever. I know that I can be happy. I know that everything will work out okay in the end. I know that if I do my best to follow God, I will be accepted by God and He will give me everything that I need to be happy. The Holy Ghost tells me that He knows better than I do, and He will guide me on my path to Him.

How I live my faith

I love being a part of the organization that is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I am a part of a ward unit based on my geographical area, and here, I have a built-in community to be a part of. I go to church each Sunday and see the people in my ward. We learn together about the gospel and try to find ways to improve how we live it. Here, I can be a part of something bigger than myself and feel comfortable among others like me. We are unified through our beliefs. This is a huge support in my life.
