Kathleen: Mormon.

Hi, I'm Kathleen

My life was saved with the help of faith and prayers. I am grateful each day to be a wife and mother! I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was life-flighted after a terrible car accident when I was in my youth. After many blessings, prayers, faith of friends and family, and the will of the Lord, I lived! Even though I always knew that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ loved us, I discovered that their infinite love for each soul is more than I could ever comprehend. I learned for myself that they were aware of me and loved me, and that we will live again after this life. As time passed, I had to endure difficult surgeries. Even though that part of my struggle is over now, I still deal with health challenges on a daily basis. I have learned that this is just a part of our mortal journey here on earth and these trials have truly brought me closer to the Savior Jesus Christ. I am grateful for my life, my husband, and my two beautiful daughters! I enjoy spending time with my husband, laughing with my girls, hugs and kisses, baking, cooking, decorating, trying new things, fun vacations, the beach, the outdoors, boating, the mountains in autumn, and helping my girls develop their musical talents with violin and piano. I love my life. I love the Savior Jesus Christ. I love trying to become a little more like Him each and every day.

Why I am a Mormon

I love my Heavenly Father and the Savior Jesus Christ. I know Christ lives and loves us. He gave us the greatest of all gifts when He atoned for our sins in the Garden of Gethsemane, to provide a means for us to return to Him again. I know He is always there for us when we seek Him and His guidance. I am thankful for truth. I am thankful for prayer. I am thankful for everything good and beautiful in this world that brings us closer to Him. I am thankful for the scriptures and the eternal truths that are contained therein. I am thankful for trials, for they soften my heart and help me remember our purpose here on earth. How grateful I am for our prophets of old, and a living prophet today that guides us one step at a time on the only path that leads home. I am thankful for the gift of repentance and the gift of the Holy Ghost every day of my life. I am grateful for my husband, the priesthood he holds, and the righteous desires of his heart. I will love him throughout all eternity. Being a mother is one of the greatest gifts of all. I love my daughters with all my heart and I am grateful to be their mother. It is a gift to love and serve them each day, and help prepare them to fulfill their own mission here on earth. I know that striving to follow the Savior’s example is the only way to true and lasting happiness.

Personal Stories

Which of the Savior’s teachings have influenced you in your life?

The Savior taught and showed us how to love one another. This principle has had the greatest influence in my life. Love is the most important thing to me. I am striving to develop charity, the pure love of Christ.

Please explain the part prayer plays in your life?

Not a day goes by when we do not kneel as a family in prayer together, in the morning before we start our day and in the evening at the close of day. It brings us closer together as a family. We know it provides protection for us wherever we go, and helps us make righteous choices throughout the day. Each member of our family also has personal prayer, sometimes many times a day. Our prayers are filled with gratitude for all our blessings, for we know all blessings come from the Lord. It also helps us feel personally connected with Him as we share our heartaches and trials, and seek for answers. Our family is thankful for prayer.

How I live my faith

Being a mother, I have the opportunity to teach my children to always stand for what is right. I strive to teach them with my words and my actions, even though I am not perfect. They recognize that there are spiritual and physical consequences for every choice they make, and it is that knowledge that brings about wisdom. The scriptures are a gift in my life and I enjoy reading them and feeling the spirit. I love attending the temple. It is the most peaceful place on earth. I have also been given the opportunity to work with adults, youth, and children in the church throughout my life. At the present time, I am enjoying the leadership opportunity I have been given to teach young children about the Savior Jesus Christ and His teachings. We learn from the scriptures and sing songs together each Sunday. I also help organize activities during the week so they can learn to serve others around them and in our community.
