Hi, I'm Michelle Wood
I'm a Mormon. I live in Canada.
About Me
I am a single woman. I have six lovely children. I really enjoy reading, watching movies and spending time with my family. As my kids are now mostly grown up I am enjoying the addition of in laws to the family!!
Why I am a Mormon
When I was 19 years old my friends Dad passed away. I believed in Heaven but I really had no concept of what life was like after death and was a bit scared of the unknown. I talked to a friend that I knew that was a member of the church. She asked if I wanted to know more. I said yes. She introducted me to the missionaries. They taught me many things but the most important thing to me at that time was the knowledge that families can be together forever. You see I had a small brother pass away when he was only eight and I wanted to be with him again. I was excited. I loved learning about Joseph Smith and how he restored the church in the latter days. I loved the music. I loved the people who just accepted and loved me. I joined the church in March of 1983. It was a wonderful decision for me.
During the most difficult times in my life the Gospel has been my constant. Never changing. I always know that my Heavenly Father and his son Jesus Christ love me. I am grateful for all they have done for me. I am gratful to have a prophet on the earth today to guide us and give us encouragement. I love being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Personal Stories
Could you talk about your baptism?
I was baptised when I was nineteen years old. It was a wonderful day. I remember how very excited I was. I especially remember the feeling when I came out of the water and I just felt so clean. A new page really.
What is hope and what do you hope for?
Hope is somthing I am working on at this time. I struggle with severe depression. I have been in the hospital many times on my journey. I know that Jesus Christ understands this trial I am endurning. He felt my pain when he was in the Garden of Gethsemane. I am well on the road to recovery but I still have daily challenges. I never doubt that my Savior loves me!
How I live my faith
I enjoy visiting teaching! I am also a primary teacher on Sunday and I love the kids!!!!
