About Me

I am a 27 year-old husband and father. I work in public education and enjoy playing sports, watching movies, and spending time with my family. I believe that Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior, and I try hard to prove my faith by loving and serving my neighbors.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because it's the right thing to do. With so many churches telling you that their message is true, it's refreshing to belong to a church that focuses less on being right and more on doing the right thing. That's a philosophy that I can center my life around.

How can your talents and gifts bless others?

I have a strong testimony about our the talents that I have been given and how I am to use them. The Savior used the Parable of the Talents to tell his followers why it is important to not only recognize our talents, but also to use them and multiply them by serving others. When we do the soul searching and figure out what gifts God has given us we can use them to benefit others, and the result is synergy - taking two or more people, putting their talents together, and winding up with more talents than either could have discovered on their own. When we serve others and mix our talents together we often find that our own faith and testimony will grow!

How I live my faith

"And behold, I tell you these things that ye may learn wisdom; that ye may learn that when ye are in the service of your fellow beings ye are only in the service of your God."
--Mosiah 2:17

Whether it's at home, work, school, church, or in the community I try to spend my time helping other people. In the New Testament the Savior told his disciples, "Whosoever shall seek to save his life shall lose it; and whosoever shall lose his life shall preserve it." I firmly believe that by focusing on others I will be able to bring more happiness to those around me.

How can we increase our faith in Jesus Christ?

I've found that the best way to increase my faith in Jesus Christ is to love and serve my neighbors. As I provide service to them and act upon my faith, it grows...kind of like watering a seed. If you water it enough, and keep it clean and safe, it will eventually become a mighty and unshakeable tree. The scriptures lay out values like hope, faith, and charity and I feel that these are the basis for providing Christ-like service to others so that we can grow our faith.

Simply by trying to. If you have a desire to increase your faith in Jesus Christ, try to do it. Start by praying. Read his words in the Bible. Try to put them into practice. For example, he told us to "love one another." Try and follow that teaching. Be nice to others, help people who might have less than you, smile... As you do so, you will notice a change come over you. You might feel more peace in your life, a calm enter your mind, or a warm feeling that seems to say you're doing the right thing. These things help you realize your faith is growing. Faith is an action word. If you put action behind your belief, I have found that it will grow.

The missionaries are one of the greatest resources to find out more information on the church. If you want to know more, ask someone who is a member of the church.
