I work as a mother and horticulturist. I love to hike, garden, and read. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have one small son, and spend most of my time taking care of him. I also run a gardening business primarily focusing on design and consulting. I enjoy spending time outdoors, and especially enjoy hiking in the mountains. Cooking, sewing, growing my own food, reading, and yoga are other things I enjoy. I try to pack as much as I can into a day, but not too much to be able to stop and enjoy every moment of it.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up as a Mormon, and the majority of the people I associated with were Mormon too. Even still, I found it necessary to develop a love of my church and a testimony for myself. This came as I studied the scriptures, prayed, and relied on the Lord the lead me through my life. I am a Mormon because I cannot imagine life any other way. The Lord is there, and I cannot live without His help. I am a Mormon because this is His church and I need Him by my side.

How I live my faith

Everyday, I try to live the commandments as I have been taught in my faith. I try to live as my Lord would have me. As I strive to live my faith, I help others to do so also. I am a mom and raise my kid to know the gospel that I have also grown up knowing.

What do Mormons believe about family?

I have grown up with a mom and dad lovingly married, working together to raise all seven of their children. I am currently married with one child. I have learned that my family is where I develop the most important relationships I can have, and is the greatest work I can accomplish. I have come to realize that the best atmosphere to grow up and to raise children is with a mom and dad happily married and living the gospel.

The family is a key component to support us in God's plan for gaining immortality and eternal life. All of God's children (all the inhabitants that lived, are living, and will live on Earth) are inseperably connected to each other, both (physically) by our Earthly families and (spiritually) by our Heavenly Father.

Families help us to understand our divine heritage. In this, life takes on purpose and meaning. Our immortal spirits were created by our Heavenly Father before Earthly existance, and we are directly connected to Him in this way. As a spiritual family, our collective purpose on Earth is to follow the commandments of God that lead us to live in heaven with Him again.

Our spirits need to progress, learn, and grow. In order to achieve that, Earthly existance was created as our test. Our Heavenly Father knew that being exposed to opposing forces on Earth was the only way for us to gain knowledge and wisdom.

However, we will not always choose righteousness, and so our Savior, Jesus Christ, is that great mediator to pay the debt of our mistakes. He is the only way by which we can be saved from our sins and transgressions. He is the ultimate example by which direction we need to live our lives. With the support of our earthly kin, we can learn from each other, serve each other, and strengthen our mortal weaknesses by being disciples of Christ. Our families are a gift from God, and we can be together forever.

Why are only some Mormons allowed into temples? Is there something secret going on in Mormon Temples? What goes on in Mormon Temples?

We want everyone to be able to enter the Temple and feel of the sweet and beautifully peaceful aroma and spirit there. A Temple is a holy and sacred place. Unlike regular church buildings which are also sacred, Temples are specially reserved as places to be separate from worldly influences. Therefore, only those who are living such a life may enter, so as to preserve the Temple's sacredness. But we want everyone to qualify so that they may enter and feel of that spirit. It isn't hard to qualify, but it does take some effort. All that is required is for one to live a Christlike life with a heart that only desires to do good.
