Hi I'm Whit

About Me

My testimony began and matured in the Globe, Arizona stake. I have been married for over 20 years to a wonderful man who honors his priesthood. We have two awesome children. My happy place is anywhere that I am with my family. I currently serve in the YW program and love it! I mean seriously - girls camp, m&m bowling, youth conference, personal progress... it just doesn't get much better than this. I have found that one of my callings in this life is to be online. I work online as a deal finder. I have several blogs and am currently producing an online competitive cooking show. It is amazing to me how many ways there are to testify of Christ in the online community.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised to be a Mormon, but have developed a testimony of my own. I continue to read my scriptures and pray to my Heavenly Father so that my testimony of Jesus Christ will continue to grow stronger.

Personal Stories

Please explain the part prayer plays in your life?

It was a simple prayer that first helped me to know that God is real and hears and answers my individual prayers. When I was a little girl I lived in a mortuary for awhile. Sometimes at night I would get scared - as you can imagine. One night I was having a difficult time getting to sleep. I was very scared and I really wanted my Mom! My bedroom was in the basement and my parents were upstairs with guests. I knew I couldn't yell and have my Mom hear me because she was too far away. I was too afraid to go upstairs and get her... so, I did what I had been taught... I said a prayer. I was really specific and I told Heavenly Father that I really wanted my Mom to come downstairs and sing to me. No sooner had I finished my prayer than my Mom came downstairs. She explained to me that she had a feeling that I needed her and asked if I would like her to sing me a song. I knew my prayer had been answered and remember being amazed that with all of the children in the world praying, he had taken the time for ME, personally.

How I live my faith

I currently serve as the president of the Young Women organization in my Ward. This has been an amazing opportunity to help the young women come closer to Jesus Christ through activities together and Sunday lessons. We recently attended a youth conference where we camped together and studied the Book of Mormon in an interactive way. My testimony has been greatly strengthened through this activity and others working with the YW.
