About Me

I'm currently a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints serving in the Baton Rouge Louisiana mission. I've had the joy and priveledge of being a part of this church since the day I was born and it's something I am eternally grateful for.

Why I am a Mormon

Grew up Mormon and through many different experiences I know this to be our Savior's Church put on this earth for all of God's children in this dispensation. I guess you can say it has been revealed to me line upon line and precept upon precept and it has gotten to the point where I can say with all the assuredy of my heart that I KNOW this church is true!

Why do Mormons go on missions?

The decision for me to go on a mission is something I decided I wanted to do ever since I was a little boy growing up throughout primary. I always just knew that it was a step i needed to take in life. But it wasn't till my time to serve drew near that I truly began to pray and ponder about why I truly did want to serve. I didn't get an answer right away and continued to pray about it on many different occassions. It's when I was on my way home from the temple with my grandparents that I heard my grandma talk about how easy it is to notice the happy and joy that members of Christs Church have compared to those who don't, and immediately when I heard that it was like a light bulb went on in my head and I knew the real reason I wanted to serve a mission is to share the happiness and joy the knowledge and blessings of the gospel grant me daily to all.

How I live my faith

The biggest way I know how to live my faith is by making the decision to leave my family, friends, school and all the comforts of home and serve my savior faithfully for 2 years. There is nothing more rewarding then seeing the changes and the joy that the gospel can bring into someones life. This gospel is the ultimate thirst quencher so that all of God's children will never go without again.

What do Mormons believe about family?

Mormons don't just believe but we know that through our loving Heavenly Father's plan we all have the opportunity of being with our families, not just in this life, but throughout eternity as well. And for me personally the very knowledge and thought of being with my family forever is something I am and will always be grateful for because the times when I am happiest is when I'm with my family.

The family is a key component to support us in God's plan for gaining immortality and eternal life. All of God's children (all the inhabitants that lived, are living, and will live on Earth) are inseperably connected to each other, both (physically) by our Earthly families and (spiritually) by our Heavenly Father.

Families help us to understand our divine heritage. In this, life takes on purpose and meaning. Our immortal spirits were created by our Heavenly Father before Earthly existance, and we are directly connected to Him in this way. As a spiritual family, our collective purpose on Earth is to follow the commandments of God that lead us to live in heaven with Him again.

Our spirits need to progress, learn, and grow. In order to achieve that, Earthly existance was created as our test. Our Heavenly Father knew that being exposed to opposing forces on Earth was the only way for us to gain knowledge and wisdom.

However, we will not always choose righteousness, and so our Savior, Jesus Christ, is that great mediator to pay the debt of our mistakes. He is the only way by which we can be saved from our sins and transgressions. He is the ultimate example by which direction we need to live our lives. With the support of our earthly kin, we can learn from each other, serve each other, and strengthen our mortal weaknesses by being disciples of Christ. Our families are a gift from God, and we can be together forever.

Who is the Mormon prophet today?

God through out the ages has spoken to His children through living prophets. We have a prophet today, named Thomas S. Monson. He is a prophet just like Moses, Abraham or Peter. My wife and I, were blessed to be personally called by President Monson to serve a mission. For 2 hours we sat in his office as he taught us. We felt his spirit and his love. I know that he is a prophet. This is the Savior’s church and He leads this church just as he did anciently through a living prophet. As we follow President Monson’s teaching and example we will be blessed to draw nearer to the Savior.
