About Me

I am part of a wonderful family. I love my Faith and what it brings to my life. Never in my life have I been happier than when I'm close to the Lord. What being LDS means to me, is being and feeling safe - feeling complete love and complete happiness, and having a happy family that loves each other, stays together and is together for eternity!

Why I am a Mormon

Being Mormon means so many things to me. It means learning how to love yourself as well as others - no matter what differences may be present. It means doing service and selflessly serving others. It means looking at whats 'in it' for the other person rather than what's 'in it' for you.

Never in my life have I been happier than when I'm close to my Heavenly Father. Being Mormon means focusing on Family, building 'a nation' of God oriented individuals who focus on Charity, Faith, Hope and the good-will of all mankind.

We're all in this together, and together we will win. :)

Personal Stories

What are you doing to help strengthen your family and make it successful?

I believe that people watch you. Even people who vocally disagree with your choices. Where there may appear no hope for change, I believe if you stay strong to what you believe in - others will come around to know the truth.

The Gospel teaches us to be honest and listen and be patient to hear the still small voice of the Holy Spirit. God may not answer right away - but he will answer if you have Faith and Hope and Charity.

I believe in being an example and leading by example. That is what I'm doing to strengthen my family and circle of friends.

How I live my faith

I wake up each morning and thank God for all my many blessings. My husband and I read scriptures and Church History every day. I do my best to eat healthy. I do my best to take up every opportunity to do service. I love myself (in gratitude for this body God gave me, and knowing I'm a daughter of God). I love and appreciate my husband. I love my family. I go to Church every Sunday and do my best to fulfill my Church callings as God would have me do. :)

Can a husband and wife be together forever? Do Mormons believe that families will live together in heaven?

"till Death do us part" seems so sad to me. I believe in guardian angels, those who past before us - family and close friends, I believe surround us and help us each moment of our lives. Who better to help answer our prayers than our loved ones?

The Good work doesn't end here on earth, it continues in Heaven. Having said that, I believe that love also does not end at death, but our relationships continue in the next life.

We believe in Temple Sealing, the strongest bond that we can form here on earth, that seals our commitment to our loved one and family for ALL eternity. It's a commitment that says "I promise to love you forever, no matter what. You are my eternal love and promise to stand by you forever." It's the most romantic act of love you can ever choose to make. Being LDS is very romantic ;)

When married by earthly power and the authority of man, our vows are "Until death do you part."

We believe that families can be together forever as part of our Heavenly Father's Great Plan of Happiness. His Work and His Glory is to bring to pass the exaltation and eternal life of man. He wants us to be even as He is and to return home to live with Him again.

Through the ordinances of his Holy Temples, God's son's and daughter's are able to make covenants. Through the power of His Holy Priesthood, be sealed together for all of time and eternity as Husband and Wife, parents and children.

Families were designed and instituted by God with the intent that they be forever. The love we feel in this life does not need to be cut off when we die. Those who have already died are not lost us forever. God has mercifully made a way by which all who would accept these saving ordinances can do so, living or dead.

We perform these ordinances for those who have in the past died so that they may have the opportunity of accepting them on the other side if they so choose to do so.

What is the attitude of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints regarding homosexuality and same sex marriage?

This issue is one that is rife with misunderstanding to outsiders. First, let me say here that we love and accept all of God's children, regardless of beliefs. That being said, we affirm that the central purpose of life is to make and keep covenants in a family relationship. By extension that means bringing children into the world, born in loving families with both a father and a mother.

We believe that our genders are an essential aspect of our eternal identities, that we were male and female even before we came to this earth. Neither sex is more important than the other; both serve the purpose of God to save His children. Both priesthood and motherhood are essential in the rearing of children.

I myself am unspeakably grateful for the blessing of having both a loving father and mother. They each supported me in different ways, unique to their identity as a man and a woman.
