About Me

Hi! My name is Nycole. I am 24, married, and have a beautiful baby girl. I am currently working through a Nursing Degree, and I am also a reservist in the US Army. I love to play sports, including basketball and soccer, and I enjoy reading, movies and spending time with family. I love to be outdoors, and I love to travel and find adventures!

Why I am a Mormon

I love what this gospel of Jesus Christ has done for me as a person. I feel true happiness in my life every single day- not a "payday Friday" kind of happiness, but a real, deep and true happiness that I have never experienced outside of this church. I have spent a time in my life away from this gospel and its principles, and the vast contrast of satisfaction with life was tremendous. I live a happier, healthier life because of this gospel. Because I have been a valiant (but very far from perfect :) ) member of this church, I have been able to be sealed for time and eternity to my husband and children. What a blessing it is to know that I will be with my family in the eternities. Because of the teachings of this church, I know exactly who I am, why I am on this earth, and what will become of me once I leave this earth. It gives me a hope and a purpose to keep going, when life gets hard. In my most difficult moments, I always have a companion in my Savior, who knows and loves me better than anyone else. I love being a member of this church, and cannot imagine life without it.

Personal Stories

How has your knowledge of the Plan of Happiness changed/benefited your life?

Because of my knowledge of the Great Plan, I live my life with purpose. Because I know where I am going after I die, I strive to live worthy of those blessings every day. I know what I have to look forward to, and that makes this life easier to bear.

How I live my faith

I love working with the youth at our local church! They allow me to feel like a teenager again, but I also get to be a good influence on them. I also enjoy taking some time each month to visit with other women at our church. I find it refreshing to get to know other women, and I feed off of their experience as women and mothers. My husband and I love to attend activities at our church- we always have such a great time!

Mormons believe Jesus Christ is their Savior. Why do we need a Savior?

We are not perfect beings by any means, but our Heavenly Father is. In order to return to His presence after we die, it would be necessary for us to be perfect to dwell with Him. Our Savior provided the ultimate sacrifice by dying for our sins. Through him, we can become perfected and dwell with Him and our Heavenly Father for eternity! What a blessing!

There are doctrinal answers to why we believe we need a Savior to redeem us from the Fall of Adam and to return us to our Father in Heaven that you'll probably come across here. But let me tell you why I need a Savior personally and what He does for me. Christ suffered personally for my pains, sorrows, and sins so that if I ask Him too, He can take them from me. I have been the victim of abuse in my life, and yet through Him I have been able to lay it all at His feet, freely forgive, feel peace, find love, and understand how important negative life experiences can be in teaching us humility. Daily He takes my pain and replaces it with pure love so that I am no longer a victim, but a victor. I need a Savior because He knows me, and through him my flaws become strengths and my pain becomes peace.

Why are Mormons asked to donate 10% of their income to their Church?

Latter Day Saints(Mormons) donate 10% of their income to the church because the Lord has commanded us too! In Proverbs 3:9 it says, "Honour the Lord with substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase." This is talking about tithing, tithing literally means one-tenth, which is 10%. So when the Lord commands us to donate one-tenth of our increase(income) that is what we do. If you look at Malachi 3:8-10 you will see that the Lord is asking for us to give him our tithes (10%) and in return he will open the windows of Heaven and pour out blessings, so many that we won't be able to contain them. Wouldn't you want to receive innumerable blessings for just giving Him 10% of your pay check? It seems like a pretty fair trade to me.
