Why I am a Mormon

The only reason I am a Mormon is because it is true. This is not something that you just believe because someone tells you. I have prayed for myself and received my answer. If you want to know don't believe me listen to the missionaries and pray for yourself. A hint I ask God to give me a very easy answer something that I could really feel or understand because I did not consider myself very spiritual and needed help. It worked

How can we develop greater harmony in our homes?

My daughter started asking me the big question in life; why are we here? where are we going? Is there a God? she was only 7 at the time (very smart girl, gets it from her mother) The right answers are here in the church and I was able to help her answer these important questions. Because of these simple question I have a family that is closer and united and looking forward to being together forever (One of the answers to the questions above)

How I live my faith

I find faith to be a very personal thing, for most of my life I would have a hard time talking about faith. I have grown enough in recent years to come to understand how much faith can do in my life , how important it is to know I have a Heavenly Father who knows me and loves me and that because of his Jesus Christ I will be able to be with him again. I started this faith with hope, through pray, scripture read and study, my hope has grown to faith. I live my faith by serving others, the funny thing is the more I try to give the more I end up receiving.

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

We are all God's children, brothers and sister, if I want to truly follow Christ I would help all those I can. I will try to help anyone I can Mormon or not

Absolutely not! While we definitely serve the members of our own church, we believe that ALL men and women on this earth are sons and daughters of our Heavenly Father. Therefore, we are all one in purpose. Mormons serve people throughout the world on a local/personal level as well as on a global level. Members of our church are able to donate money, which is distributed throughout the world to people and nations in need, especially in times of trouble and disaster. It is also common for members of the church to organize activities where materials for humanitarian aid are gathered and distributed.

Why are only some Mormons allowed into temples? Is there something secret going on in Mormon Temples? What goes on in Mormon Temples?

Recently I taught a Sunday School lesson about the Apostle Paul who was cast into jail because of being falsely accused of taking non-jews into the holy parts of the ancient temple. The penalty for doing so was death. It caused me to think of the sacredness of the temple, and that people throughout history have gone through a preparation process in order to approach God through temple worship.

In our time, both members of the church and non-members who have not prepared are turned away from the sacred parts of the temple not because of secrets, but rather due to the sacred nature of the temple and the preparation required to go there. Anyone can go to the temple, given they prepare themselves and demonstrate that preparation in a visit with those responsible for qualifying persons for entrance to the temple.

I love the peace that comes from being in the temple, having prepared myself to approach the Lord in His house. I feel His Spirit there. I am grateful that others who are there have prepared themselves in the same way.

Anyone who wants to know more about the nature of the temples can ask any missionary what it takes to qualify to go there. My personal experience and witness is that it is worth qualifying oneself and experiencing the beauty and peace that is constantly there.
