Lindsey: Mormon.

Hi, I'm Lindsey

I'm an author, entrepreneur, wife, and full time mom. I'm also a Mormon.

About Me

I've been married 10 years come December 2010. My husband is from Germany and is a convert. He used to be Lutheran. He is the only convert in his entire family and the only family member living here in the U.S. He came here on an athletic scholarship and was a goalie for the WSU men's soccer team. We met at Weber State. We have two small children and one on the way - due this November. We were married in the Salt Lake City, Utah temple in December 2000.

I graduated from Weber State University with a B.I.S Degree in Social Work, Communication and Family Studies. I used my background and experience to write a relationship book for marriages. I had an exciting national PR campaign and book tour in 2009. I also do public speaking on the side. 2010 opened up a new door of opportunity and I created a fabulous skin care product that heals dry feet. I partnered with one of the biggest infomercial companies in the world and the product will be in retail chains stores this Fall.

Despite all of the busyness I devote all my time to my family and church. It's what I enjoy most at the end of the day. I also love to cook, bake and write. I have several blogs. Staying busy keeps me happy :)

Why I am a Mormon

I was baptized at the age of eight years old. Though I was born into a Mormon family, I always felt the gospel to be true. I have always had a strong testimony of the teachings of Mormon doctrine and gospel principals ever since I was a small girl.

I have found my testimony to be an anchor to me throughout my youth and early adulthood. When my young friends were trying to "find themselves" I already knew who I was. This strong testimony helped me avoid many common pitfalls and heart ache that young people experience and prepared me to be the strong and loving person I am today.

I find peace and comfort in being a Mormon and being led by a loving prophet. I have felt the hand of God in my life, blessing me many times. The knowledge and faith I have about where we come from, why we are here and where we are going has helped me learn my purpose here on this Earth and has prepared me to live my life in a way that is meaningful and beneficial to me and my family. I love Jesus Christ and I know that we are perfected in him. I know that God has a plan for each and every one of us and that we are all special to him.

I know that power of the priesthood is real and that our lovingly Heavenly Father speaks to us and blesses us through this divine power. I have witnessed many wonderful blessings and small miracles in my life through the power of the Holy Priesthood and can personally testify that God and His son Jesus Christ lives and knows who we are personally. We can live with them again and our families throughout all eternity if we strive to keep the commandments and live our best here on Earth. I say this in the name of Jesus Christ - amen.

Personal Stories

How has the Book of Mormon brought you closer to God?

The Book of Mormon was written by an ancient people for you and I and all people of our day. That in itself is amazing and divine. Reading the testimonies of ancient prophets who once lived on this continent and testified of Jesus Christ and saw our day and were able to instruct us in a way that would help us during our modern day struggles has built my testimony of the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon.

God has spoken to me many times through the words in the Book of Mormon. I have had prayers answered through the words of those ancient prophets and I feel the Holy Spirit testify strongly to me that these words are true. The promised blessings and instruction in there have helped me live a life full of peace and comfort. I know that it is another true testament of Jesus Christ and that he lives.

Why/How do you share the gospel with your friends?

I try to share the gospel by being an example of the Savior. I am often told that I am always beaming with joy and light. People often tell me they have never seen me without a smile on my face. I know this is because of the happiness the gospel of Jesus Christ has brought into my life. It gives me confidence, assurance, security, comfort and peace. My desire is that others will want to know him because they know me.

Because the Lord does so much for me I want to do all I can for him. I feel that sharing the gospel with others is what he wants me to be doing. He wants me to bring others unto him so that they can know his love for them and be blessed.

How I live my faith

I am currently serving in the primary (young children) in my ward. Before that I served in the Relief Society (Our Women's Organization) for quite a while as a Compassionate Service Leader and Enrichment Specialist. I organized meals for families in need and I helped plan enriching activities for the women in our ward.

I am a visiting teacher as well. I try to be very faithful in all my callings because I know how the Lord is relying on me to be his hands. I do my best to be an example of Christ like love and charity in all I do. I also try to serve in the temple often and enjoy my experiences there each time I do.
