I'm a wife and mom trying to balance life! Some days are good, some are not, but I always know that I'm never alone.

About Me

I'm a married, stay-at-home mom, college student so I've got a lot going on. Music is a big part of my life. I play a couple of instruments and it helps me de-stress at the end of the day. It's a good way to express how I'm feeling and I can share how I feel about my Savior. I love to watch classic movies with my mom and dad. I have some great friends that I have tons of fun with. I'm pretty much your all American girl. I watch sports, enjoy traveling, and experiencing new food, but most of all I like to meet new and interesting people.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I know that the teachings of the Gospel are true. I grew up in the church but there comes a point where you have to figure out things for yourself and not do it simply because you were told to. So I sat down, read my scriptures (front to back), prayed about it, and had great feeling that what I was doing was right. Everything I have done afterwards is built upon the fact that I know that the church is true. I feel it in my heart, my soul, and in my mind. The gospel that is taught makes sense if you believe in a loving and just God and I'm truly grateful that I am a part of his marvelous plan.

What blessings have come through your faith in Jesus Christ?

What blessings have come through my faith in Christ? ALL OF THEM! The biggest one is my husband and my children. Others include my husband's job, our home, and my friends that I've made when we recently moved to Arkansas. He truly cares and understands the lonely mother overwhelmed by everyday life. The tender mercies He gives me are wonderful and even if I give Him everything I have it still won't be enough to repay Him.

What has helped develop greater harmony in your home?

Spending quality time with the family, reading scriptures together, and praying. We love eating dinner together and discuss what's going on around us. It's fun!

How has the Book of Mormon helped you understand the purpose of life?

The great thing about the Book of Mormon is that it is easy to understand. It helped me understand that the Father really does love us and wants us to live with Him again and that it is my duty to make sure that I do as much as I can to return to Him.

How has your knowledge of the Plan of Happiness changed/benefited your life?

The Plan of Happiness has benefited my life because I know that my can live with my family forever after we have died. I will be able to ensure that I live with my parents, my husband, and my children in Heaven. This plan is proof that God loves us, for He wants us to be with the people who we love the most and in His presence.

How I live my faith

I live my faith day to day. Each day is a new and comes with it's own challenges. I'm a young mom with a toddler who makes things crazy at the house so most days are exhausting for me. It's a comfort for me that I have faith that if I pray to Heavenly Father he will help me be patient with my daughter and to be a better mom.

One of the responsibilities that I have is to teach the 10 year olds Sunday school. They are a great bunch of kids that have a lot of energy, but also want to learn and to be treated like they aren't kids anymore. It's fun to watch them put information together and understand the Father's plan for them and that He does love them and wants them to succeed.

Why do Mormons believe in “eternal life?”

We are taught that we can live with Heavenly Father in Heaven if we use the atonement of Jesus Christ. We must live the commandments and ordinances that He has given us and to repent of our sins for no unclean thing can be in the presence of God.

What is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints' attitude regarding homosexuality and same sex marriage?

We all have the freedom to pursue happiness in their own way, and I would even be willing to allow that some desires may be genetically given. This does not make our desires right. In the scriptures we read " For the natural man is an enemy to God, and has been from the fall of Adam, and will be, forever and ever, unless he yields to the enticings of the Holy Spirit, and putteth off the natural man and becometh a saint through the atonement of Christ the Lord." (Mosiah 3:19) We all have "natural desires" that place us in opposition with God's purpose and desires for us and we must each seek to correct them if we wish true happiness.

I sympathize with those whose desires are powerful and poignant; you face a sore trial indeed. The scriptures give us hope though; "There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it." (1 Corinthians 10:13) God is merciful and Christ is compassionate, while there may be yet an effectual struggle to be had perhaps for many years or the rest of our lives full repentance and change is possible.

If a homosexual individual desires to continue as such and marry only by the laws and rites of the state, then I have no qualms, I will do my utmost to be a friend to such an individual. I only ask that my rights, beliefs, and Church are respected.
