About Me

After searching for quite sometime for answers to many questions as to my purpose for being here, I came to know a true friend who went a little bit out of her comfort zone to be a good friend to me and introduce me to the Gospel of Jesus Christ and to his priesthood authority. Therefore, I studied the scriptures carefully and found that families can be together forever, through priesthood ordinances that are performed in the Lord's temples... I was baptized in late spring of 1990... by living the gospel I have gained a testimony of the gospel.

Why I am a Mormon

I joined the Church because I found out that it was the Lord's Church on the Earth and that through this Church, there is Priesthood authority to perform all of the essential ordinances for our getting back to our Heavenly Father and our Savior, Jesus Christ.

How does making right choices help us make more right choices?

Up until four days before I joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, I was living in my car and slept in the trunk of my car at night... often in bar parking lots because I was too drunk to legally drive or too stoned to go very far on foot. Many things were already apparent to me regarding what was right and what was wrong, but when I began to earnestly study the Book of Mormon everyday, I had the power to quit getting drunk and to quit getting stoned, and become a productive member of our society and grow spiritually... While I still consider myself a mere child to our Heavenly Father, I know that in due time, I will continue to grow as I remain faithful in keeping the commandments of the Lord. Therefore, I testify that the principles that are taught in this book are true. Therefore, I invite everyone to study it everyday!

How I live my faith

By studying the scriptures, praying for an understanding the principles that are taught in the scriptures, and by applying the principles that are taught in the scriptures, I am about the Lord's business on seeking out the honest in heart (both on Earth and those who use to live on the Earth), and providing them with the opportunity to follow our master, Jesus Christ.

Why is self-reliance important to Mormons? Why do Mormons talk about emergency preparedness?

When we came to this world, our mission was to prepare ourselves to meet our Heavenly Father and our Savior, Jesus Christ. This meant that we needed to learn the principles that are fundamental in becoming even as our Heavenly parents by learning to work effectively. While none of us are superman or superwoman, the pathway to becoming like our Heavenly parents requires us to prepare ourselves accordingly and perform the kinds of activities that lead to prosperity. Therefore, as we learn these principles we develop meaningful relationships with those around us and are better able to hold down meaningful employment, get a good education and develop meaningful relationships with our family and friends.

Why are only some Mormons allowed into temples? Is there something secret going on in Mormon Temples? What goes on in Mormon Temples?

There are many different things that happen inside a Mormon Temple. It's a place where members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormons) make sacred two way promises with God called Covenants. These covenants aren't secret, they're sacred, and so we don't talk about them outside of the temple out of respect for them. Members also go to the temple to be married for time and all eternity. Not just "until death do you part" but even after death. We also perform ordinances such as baptism for people who have died without receiving the opportunity to be baptized. A worthy member is baptized in the place of the deceased.
The temple is a sacred place where the spirit of the Lord is and so one must be worthy to enter. So even members of the church must have a special recommend in order to enter.
