I am a Navy wife and a recent graduate. My interests include the beach, playing music, and reading. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was recently married and shortly thereafter moved from my hometown to become part of a larger family, the Navy. I graduated with my bachelors in biology and want to continue learning and expanding my knowledge in genetics as well as in plants. Music inspires me and I love to play the piano. I enjoy teaching others and hope to continue to do that throughout my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I can only find real peace and joy in this world through the the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. This is a gift. I continue to wake up every morning and go through my day because of the knowledge of who I really am, a daughter of God. I have read the Book of Mormon many times and with each time I receive a confirmation that this book is true. I know Joseph Smith to be a prophet of God. I know the Church of Jesus Christ has been restored to the earth. We can receive daily inspiration from our Father in Heaven through the Holy Ghost because the priesthood has been restored. God has not left His children on the earth without help. He has not abandoned us. There were the prophets of old in the Old Testament and there are still living prophets today.

Personal Stories

How has the Book of Mormon brought you closer to God?

The first time I read the Book of Mormon from cover to cover was when I was 13 years old. I felt comfort in knowing there is a God out there and He wants to help me. The Book of Mormon taught me at an early age what it meant to have faith, to have real faith in Christ. There have been times when I have sought out answers through prayer and answers have come to me through reading the Book of Mormon.

How has your knowledge of the Plan of Happiness changed/benefited your life?

I have been taught the Plan of Happiness since I was a child. It has always given me comfort to know that I can be with my family again after this life. It has meant even more to me now more than ever with my marriage to my husband. I love him and I can't imagine the thought of ending that love in this life. By following the steps the Savior set out for us we can have this great blessing with us forever.

How I live my faith

I go to church every Sunday and have been involved in different areas of the church throughout my life. We sing many hymns and I have played the organ and piano multiple times for these occasions. My favorite thing to do is to play musical numbers that uplift others. I help teach the gospel to different age groups ranging from the age of 3 and up. I go visit women in the ward to teach them a monthly message from the prophet and assist to their needs. When families in the area are in need of help the whole area will get together to do things like paint or clean to help them on their feet.

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

No. We are all children of our Father in Heaven and help anyone who is in need of assistance.

As a local Bishop in the Church, I can assure you that we do not limit our help to members. We perform numerous acts of service to our friends in the local community, and we do it gladly because we know service brings us and them great blessings of happiness and satisfaction. Our world wide disaster relief program brings food, clothing, water, sanitations kits and medications to our nonmember brothers and sisters around the world, quickly and effeciently. As Mormons, we know we are fellow citizens of the world and that all peoples are part of our Heavenly Father's family, and we try hard to act accordingy.

How can we stop the spread and influence of pornography?

I believe that Mothers have the power to combat the evils of our day, one child, one bedtime story, and one encouraging conversation at a time. When we teach our children about their worth as children of God, they will find confidence in themselves, and they will be armed with the power to make correct choices and the wisdom to recognize that following Jesus Christ is the path to true happiness.
