About Me

I am a mother of three young children. I stay home with them. I really enjoy being a mother. I like to read and play the piano. I love walking and having quiet time. I want to learn to draw and play the violin someday. I am working on our vegetable garden and hopefully, one day, have a beautiful flower garden.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the faith. I felt a certain peace and joy that came in following the commandments and praying to Heavenly Father. The reason I have continued in the faith is because I believe it to be a wonderful guide in life and gives me an understanding of life after this one. I feel a great purpose in knowing where I came from and that I matter to God and to others. I know this church to be right and good. I know that Heavenly Father loves each of His children on this earth. I know that through studying the scriptures, everyone can find answers to their questions. I'm thankful for these blessings.

Personal Stories

Please explain the part prayer plays in your life?

Prayer is a big part of my life. I try to pray every morning before i start my day and then pray before I go to bed at night. Prayer is my way to tell God about my day and my feelings. I ask Him questions and tell Him about my frustrations and concerns about my children. Prayer is a place to let go and trust in Him who knows me best. Through prayer, God guides my life and helps me make the best choices for myself and my family. My anxieties and fears diminish as I trust in His care and know that He will always hear and help me. When the world gets too loud, I can turn to Him. I need that everyday.

How I live my faith

I love being involved in my faith. I currently teach the women in our church group. I love to study the scriptures and share my own experiences. I served a mission for the church in Hong Kong. I was there for a year and a half. I enjoyed teaching people about Jesus and Heavenly Father. I love to serve and help others. It makes me feel that I have a purpose.

What do Mormons believe about family?

Mormons believe family to be the center of the church, with Jesus Christ leading. We believe that families can live together beyond this life and for eternity. We believe that we are put into families so that we can learn what is most important for us to learn as individuals and together. We believe that the father is the leader in the home with the mother at the father's side, equal and leading as one. We believe that families can bless lives tremendously and can bring great happiness.

The family is a key component to support us in God's plan for gaining immortality and eternal life. All of God's children (all the inhabitants that lived, are living, and will live on Earth) are inseperably connected to each other, both (physically) by our Earthly families and (spiritually) by our Heavenly Father.

Families help us to understand our divine heritage. In this, life takes on purpose and meaning. Our immortal spirits were created by our Heavenly Father before Earthly existance, and we are directly connected to Him in this way. As a spiritual family, our collective purpose on Earth is to follow the commandments of God that lead us to live in heaven with Him again.

Our spirits need to progress, learn, and grow. In order to achieve that, Earthly existance was created as our test. Our Heavenly Father knew that being exposed to opposing forces on Earth was the only way for us to gain knowledge and wisdom.

However, we will not always choose righteousness, and so our Savior, Jesus Christ, is that great mediator to pay the debt of our mistakes. He is the only way by which we can be saved from our sins and transgressions. He is the ultimate example by which direction we need to live our lives. With the support of our earthly kin, we can learn from each other, serve each other, and strengthen our mortal weaknesses by being disciples of Christ. Our families are a gift from God, and we can be together forever.

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

I don't know of anyone that compares to Moses in individual character, but I have heard of many men with faith just as Moses's. Take a look at the words of the Prophets that have previously been chief-apostle of this church, their wonderful biographies and their 'good fruits.' These are men with such faith in God that they are willing to fully devote all their time and effort to proclaim His gospel, and to labor as his servants in this work.

God is the same yesterday, today and forever. God loved his children enough in the past to give them a prophet to guide them throughout their journey's. Would God love us less in these days when the journey's are so much more difficult? My answer I really Do believe that God loves us the same today, that there really is a prophet today who receives revelation from God to guide us throughout our struggles. And what a blessing this is!
