About Me

I am 26 years old and married to a wonderful women.We have a 2 year old son. My wife and I both work full time and go to school full time. We are both converts to the church. I was previously from a Christian church and my wifewas Catholic. We learned about The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and found that this is the right church for us.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a convert to the church. Before I became a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints I was a Christian. I started to learn about the restoration of the church and about Joseph Smith and I knew in my heart this was the true church. I prayed about whether or not this church is the true church and I received an answer.

How has the Book of Mormon brought you closer to God?

The Book of Mormon has affected my life in a positive way. I want to share my story of how I came across The Book of Mormon and how it and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has changed my life and my family’s life. I attend college online with University of Phoenix and I was in a class called Religions of the World. One of my assignments was to write a paper on a religion/ church that I knew nothing about. For no apparent reason I chose The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It just popped up in my head and I went with it. I could have easily have picked a different religion but I looked at it as a sign from God telling me to learn about this church. Previous to this experience me and my wife were at the mall about a month or so prior. Two missionaries approached me and my wife and asked us if we wanted to learn about our Savior Jesus Christ or if there was a time when they can come over to talk to us about Jesus Christ. Me and my wife thanked them for their time but informed them that we were not interested because I knew absolutely nothing about The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints or what it was all about. I look at this experience as God trying to enter our lives once and we declined to let him into our lives. But when I had to write a paper, I feel it was God again telling me and directing me to the church and giving me another chance. He did not give up on me. Our Heavenly Father loves all of us. Because I knew nothing about the church or The Book of Mormon, I needed to get information for my paper. I went the LDS website and went to www.mormon.org. On the website there are many links and on top of all the information there is a “chat now” section. So I was like cool let me chat now with somebody so I can get some information about my paper. I was introduced to some missionaries and we started talking online about The Book of Mormon, Jesus Christ, God, the Bible, Joseph Smith etc. I knew absolutely nothing about the church and its members or what the beliefs are. All I knew were the rumors and the stuff “I heard” about the church and it turns out all the rumors were not true at all. We believe in the Bible as well, not just The Book of Mormon. The Book of Mormon is a volume of Holy Scripture comparable to the Bible. Just as there are prophets in the Bible, there were also prophets in the Americas. Just as God communicated with the people of Israel he did the same with the people of the ancient Americas and The Book of Mormon is a record of God’s dealings. As does the Bible, it contains the fullness of the everlasting Bible. I am asking you to please take the time to look into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I am asking you to read the first page of The Book of Mormon called An Account Written by the Hand of Mormon. I am asking you to read the Introduction. I am asking you read The Testimony of Three Witnesses and The Testimony of Eight Witnesses. I am asking you to read The Testimony of the Prophet Joseph Smith. I am asking you to read A Brief Explanation About The Book of Mormon. Please take the 30 minutes it takes to read these important words. The Book of Mormon contains many important scriptures, as does the Bible. If you want to learn about Jesus Christ’s visit to ancient America please read 3 Nephi 11 Chapter 11 page 427. In the Bible please read John 1016 and in The Book of Mormon 3 Nephi 1513-24. Just as Joseph Smith read James 15 in the Bible and asked God an important question, I am asking you to do the same. I am asking you to read these important scriptures. And finally when you are done I am asking you to read Moroni 103-5 in The Book of Mormon. God will give you an answer and I can guarantee that. Why/How do you share the gospel with your friends?

I feel that this church is the true church. If you found something so great and so real wouldn't you want your friends and family to know? However, I do not want to force my beliefs on anyone. If they are interested or maybe do not know about the church, I like to talk about it and inform them the truth about the church. I also like to give them some information such as The Book of Mormon or facts about the church so they cans see for themselves and pray whether or not these things are true.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by being obedient to Gods commandment. I do my best to be a good person and to live righteously. I want to help people in need and spread the word about The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, The Book of Mormon, God, Jesus Christ, and the Bible.

What do Mormons believe about family?

Family is very important to us. We believe that family's can be together in Heaven. We believe that once married in the temple that the couple is now sealed for eternity not death do us part. We also believe that our children are sealed to the parents as well so family's can be together in Heaven as well. It is a great thing to know that me and my wife are going to be together forever and it helps us with our relationship.

The family is a key component to support us in God's plan for gaining immortality and eternal life. All of God's children (all the inhabitants that lived, are living, and will live on Earth) are inseperably connected to each other, both (physically) by our Earthly families and (spiritually) by our Heavenly Father.

Families help us to understand our divine heritage. In this, life takes on purpose and meaning. Our immortal spirits were created by our Heavenly Father before Earthly existance, and we are directly connected to Him in this way. As a spiritual family, our collective purpose on Earth is to follow the commandments of God that lead us to live in heaven with Him again.

Our spirits need to progress, learn, and grow. In order to achieve that, Earthly existance was created as our test. Our Heavenly Father knew that being exposed to opposing forces on Earth was the only way for us to gain knowledge and wisdom.

However, we will not always choose righteousness, and so our Savior, Jesus Christ, is that great mediator to pay the debt of our mistakes. He is the only way by which we can be saved from our sins and transgressions. He is the ultimate example by which direction we need to live our lives. With the support of our earthly kin, we can learn from each other, serve each other, and strengthen our mortal weaknesses by being disciples of Christ. Our families are a gift from God, and we can be together forever.
