Alison.: Mormon.

Hi, I'm Alison.

I'm an avid reader. I'm an accountant. I'm a mom. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the mother of three - a 21-year-old girl who is in college, a 16-year-old girl who is in high school, and an 12-year-old boy who is in middle school. I am also an accountant. I love to read, go to the theater, collect recipes, and walk for exercise.

Why I am a Mormon

As a Christian, I find Mormonism to have a comprehensive view of the gospel of Jesus Christ. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints provides me with His teachings and ways to apply those teachings in my personal life.

Personal Stories

What is hope and what do you hope for?

Hope is one of the guiding principles of my life. When I was a child, I thought that having hope was a lot like making a wish on a star or before blowing out birthday candles. I now believe that hope is a power, based on faith in Jesus Christ, that can bring happiness and a sense of peace to one's life. In his epistle to the Romans, the Apostle Paul called Jesus "an high priest of good things to come." That is what I hope for - good things for myself, for my family, for the world.

How has the Book of Mormon brought you closer to God?

Because the Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ, as I've read and studied the Book of Mormon, together with my study of the Bible, I have come to better know God. By knowing Him, I can trust Him and better love Him, helping me to be a better disciple of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

Attending church meetings every week is an important part of my life. I currently teach an adult Sunday School class twice a month. I love to study the Bible and Book of Mormon, so that I can learn more about and feel closer to Jesus Christ. Sharing those things with my family helps us all be better followers of Jesus Christ.
