Dave: Mormon.

Hi, I'm Dave

I'm a lifetime Mormon. I was born in Utah, but raised in South Dakota.

About Me

I'm a computer programmer with a wife and 5 daughters. My interests are computers, music, and seeing the occasional guy flick with friends.

Why I am a Mormon

I've been a member since I was 8, but just saying that is more of a cop out. I was converted in many experiences that I've had thorough my life. I've had everything from spiritual experiences to fierce Bible bashes with friends. That plus regular scripture study have helped me recognize the Holy Ghost telling me it's true.

Personal Stories

How has attending Church services helped you?

Attending services allows me to have a quiet moment, listen to the talks, helps me feel the spirit, and helps me get to know my fellow congregation members.

Please share your feelings/testimony of the Restoration of the Gospel.

God has seen fit to give me a colorful life. Being raised in South Dakota, I've seen more religions than just the LDS faith. My best friends were of many denominations. All of them were of fairly high caliber, and would do any LDS family proud. Even though there were many people who honestly and truly believed many good things, they never could agree on a doctrine. I was confused about this. How could the same God have such different doctrines? I prayed to ask Heavenly Father which doctrine I should believe. When I thought about their doctrines, I became afraid. When I thought of what I'd been taught by my parents, I felt secure and safe. That was enough confirmation for me to know that the Gospel had been restored.

How can we develop greater harmony in our homes?

Build up your family. NEVER destroy. That doesn't mean that children shouldn't be corrected. Children are like clay, they form opinions based on what they're taught. They'll be taught by family, friends, school, etc... But they'll usually turn to their family for guidance.

Why do Mormons go on missions?

To spread the gospel of Jesus Christ. To share what we've learned about our Heavenly Father, so that all his sons and daughters know whom to turn to for their salvation.

What has helped develop greater harmony in your home?

Play with the kids. Share yourself & laugh with the family. Turn off the TV, get to know them, read scriptures with them. They will love you for it. Friends and buddies come and go, so why spend a lot of time with them? Putting your friends before your family is like getting braces for baby teeth.

How I live my faith

My wife and I live our faith every day. We both co-teach the 11-12 year olds in Primary. I home teach families in our ward. Our ward is sort of like our second family.
