I am a wife, a new mom, a college student, a troop, and a Mormon.

About Me

Growing up my parents did not always attend church and my level of dedication to my religion was determined by my own faith from a young age.
At age 17 I met and started dating a relatively popular, handsome, quiet, very smart and very faithful young man. A year later he left for two years to serve as a missionary in Porto Alegre, Brazil and I went on to my first job. But our paths came back together and at age 21 I married the most gentle and patient man I have ever known.
At age 23 I fulfilled a long time dream and joined the Military. At age 24 I welcomed my first child, a beautiful baby girl. At age 25 I am expecting twins! I have also recently completed an Associated Degree in Graphic Design and am pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I want to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ. Christ's church and many of the truths He taught were lost after the death of He and His Apostles. But I believe that Christ restored His church in modern times and that church is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints. They had prophets, apostles, revelations, and miracles then and we have prophets, apostles, revelations, and miracles now. They lived by faith, prayer, and baptism then and we live by faith, prayer, and baptism now. I want to follow the teaching of Jesus Christ and I do that by living His gospel as a member of His Church.

How I live my faith

I live my family by trying to be a disciple of Christ, a good wife, a good mother, and an active member of society. I TRY to keep a clean and orderly home full of love and peace, a place my family wants to be. I look for ways to serve my family and community. I like to organize activities and get togethers with my neighbors to strengthen our sense of community and just have fun. My husband and I also teach Sunday School for the 2-3 year olds challenging yes, but every week we are blessed to see the innocents and faith of God's precious little ones. I am also a member of the United States Air Force Reserve. In the Reserves I work with a team to support troop and cargo movements as well as humanitarian efforts.

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Yes I do. The Bible teaches us that there had been prophets on the Earth from the time of Adam and Eve until Jesus Christ Himself and all of his Apostles were killed. The full truth of the gospel and the power of God died with them but when the time was right God called a new prophet, Joseph Smith, and the truth was restored. From the time on, as in olden times, we have had a prophet and Apostles on the Earth to lead us and guide us in the ways of the Lord.

Yes, I truly believe there is a prophet today leading our church and bringing blessings into the world. Why would God provide a prophet in olden days, but not now? Did He love those people more than He loves us? Did they need guidance more than we do? Is the world less confusing now than it was then? The answers to all these questions are no. It only makes sense that God would have a prophet now as He did in days of old. He loves us just as much as He did those people long ago and we need Him just as much as they needed Him then.

Where did Mormonism and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints begin?

Are you a secular or a spiritual type of person? (1 Corinthians 3:2, Hebrews 5:12.)

Secular answer: The answer you may want to hear is that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints began in 1830 on the Peter Whitmer farm in western New York. That’s when the founder, Joseph Smith, made the Church a legal entity in the United States. Many people are satisfied with that answer.

Spiritual answer: This is the same church that has been around since the dawn of time. This is the gospel that Jesus Christ gave to Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moses, that Christ and his apostles taught while he was here on the earth. Because we are prone to wander, God sends prophets to adjust our perspective and invite us to return, so that we may be truly happy. In order to invite the world back to his path once more, God restored this original gospel to the earth through Joseph Smith. Wherever the gospel goes, the Church is careful to live within the laws of the land. It spans all time and all lands, in any country which allows the Church to be established legally. (Twelfth Article of Faith: We believe in being subject to kings, presidents, rulers, and magistrates, in obeying, honoring, and sustaining the law.)

Everyone on earth may know these truths for themselves, directly from God. It all depends with which answer you’re ready/willing to be satisfied. I have learned for myself that the answers that come from God are desirable above all others. (Book of Mormon, 1 Nephi 8:12).
