Hi, I'm Darrell
It's great to be a Mormon.
About Me
I just graduated from college and I work right now as an electrical engineer designing traffic systems. I'm 27, and I love to read all sorts of non-fiction books. I also play the piano and guitar.
Why I am a Mormon
The church is truly an anchor in my life. The church has taught me principles that I have tried to build my life upon. It keeps me out of trouble and gives me strength.
The people I have met through the church have been a blessing for me. I can look to these good people and know that I want what they have.
Personal Stories
Why do Mormons go on missions?
I went on a mission to serve people. I knew that I had found something special in the church and I wanted to tell others about it. The church did not force me to go on a mission, or force me to stay. I went because I wanted too, and I still to this day finding out blessings that came from my mission, both to myself and those people I taught as a missionary.
How I live my faith
I recently was asked to teach a class at church on doing family history work. I thought this was an odd request for a single 27 year old male especially one that had almost no previous interest or experience in researching ancestry. I first had to find interest in family history work, and then I had to learn about it, and now I am confident enough to teach it to others in a classroom at church.
My ancestors and their stories have become a source of great personal strength to me as I research them. I am grateful to the church for asking me to teach this class.
