Hi, I'm Chad Powell
I'm a Mormon. I teach the youth class at Grand Cayman Branch, Cayman Islands
About Me
I am a father of 3 and have a wonderful wife. We enjoy going to the beach with our dog precious, she's a German Shepherd. I work for the Power company on the Island as a supervisor. I enjoy playing wii with my family.
Why I am a Mormon
I choose to be a member of "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints" because of the love and family orientation of the church. I became a member after receiving lessons from missionaries, then praying and personal revelation which confirmed to me that "it was good". I love that the church is very organized and I have the same beliefs / teachings as other members all across the globe. I enjoy attending and love that all that it taught is confirmed through the "Holy Ghost". We as members are asked to pray and ponder all that is told, and only through the "Holy Ghost" shall we know that it is truth for ourselves.
Personal Stories
How does making right choices help us make more right choices?
When we follow God's commandments he promised us that he will bless us. When we are grateful enough to recognize these blessings such as good health, healthy Children, ability to study, ability to attend church, etc..not enough room here This is encouragement for us to follow all commandments so that we can receive more blessings.
I have seen this many times in my life.
Why do Mormons do family history or genealogy work?
So that we can help prepare the way for them to be saved after death.
How I live my faith
I am a teacher for the youth, it is very important that I do my best to lead as a positive member at all times and in all places so that I can be a positive role model. I strive to obey all commandments so that my children can follow in that example. I always try to remain humble and show my children that when I am wrong even toward them that I should never allow my pride to stop me from apologizing. I am honest in all that I do, even if being truthful not rude or offensive will not be what someone wants to hear. I strive to ensure that my family is always first and we must remain as a family as it is God's Plan for happiness.
