Hi, I'm David
I am a Husband, Father and Grandfather, a Business Executive, and I am a Mormon.
About Me
I am a husband, father and grandfather. My wife and I have 6 adult children, 5 of whom are married. We enjoy our 17 grandchildren immensely. We live in the mountains and love the beauty thereof, enjoying walks and the abundant seasons. We play golf and love to travel, mostly to see out kids and grandkids. I am a serial entrepreneur and investor, and currently serve as CEO of a rapidly growing whole foods enterprise. I serve on several boards of directors, both not-for-profit and for profit companies. As a cancer survivor, we strive to live in full measure realizing that every day is a gift.
Why I am a Mormon
As a convert to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I am forever grateful to those who have tutored and mentored me in my life. I was introduced to the Gospel of Christ as a young man of 18 years. After listening to the messages and testimonies of the missionaries, I felt a tender peace, like none other - as if I were home. It wasn't a difficult decision to enter the waters of baptism and accept Christ because everything felt so real and comfortable. Surely, I didn't fully understand all of the dynamics that lay ahead, but it felt right, it felt true and the tender entreaty to my heart and mind confirmed, without regard to what others might think, that this was my home. Although not searching, I knew that this was where I was supposed to be. My life has never been the same - the blessings of the gospel of Christ have brought joy beyond measure. Never in my life could I have imagined what lay ahead, and grateful I am for the bounty that we enjoy as a family, eternally bound in the tender love and atoning mercy of Christ.
Personal Stories
How can your talents and gifts bless others?
Our lives are gifts given to bless the lives of others. An interesting measure of Christ's kingdom the more you give, the more you receive. There is nothing we have received that we haven't been given of a loving Heavenly Father, our lives are His.
How I live my faith
My faith has been through the fiery trials of cancer and has become the substance of who I am. Gratefully, every Sunday I have the opportunity to teach the gospel of Christ in Sunday School. Further, I am blessed with the stewardship to visit with four families on a regular basis - they are each a blessing in my life. Life's experiences and gospel teachings have taught me that our lives are entrusted to us, to serve and love others - whether in church assignments and opportunities, or through the seeming routineness of every day living. My wife and I are engaged in a number of charities that tend to the needs of families, women and children in under privileged society. As well, we are actively engaged in state and national political campaigns and initiatives. The gospel of Christ gives us perspective in these opportunities of service.
