Hi, I'm Becky
I'm a wife, a mother, a girl who loves to plan trips, and I'm a Mormon.
About Me
I am a wife, a mother of 4 boys and I love that my main focus gets to be my family. Life is busy - it seems like every time I turn around there is something else I need to be doing. My husband is working on his MBA and my oldest son is an almost-teenager who would love to participate in every activity that comes his way. Son number two keeps me on my toes - he's the smartest person I've ever met, but has a hard time making eye contact or interacting with others, he has high-functioning autism - three years ago we decided to have him try an online virtual school... we're still at it and it's the best thing we could have done. Son number three would really like to be a "rock star" and number four is a toddler who thinks he's at least 16 - but we have to keep a close eye on him he has a few pretty severe food allergies - he keeps me very aware of what we are eating - that's probably a good thing. One of my favorite things to do with all of these boys is take them on "adventures." I'm always planning little trips close to home, but I love to plan the big trips, too. There's nothing like seeing your kids eyes light up when they are learning something new - or seeing something for the first time. Spending time with my boys (that includes my husband) is my favorite thing to do!
Why I am a Mormon
I'm a Mormon because I've felt the Holy Ghost testify to my heart that the things I've read in the scriptures and learned at church meetings are true. I know I have a Father in Heaven. When I've felt sad and alone, I have prayed and I've felt a very warm and peaceful feeling that I am not alone.
Personal Stories
What are you doing to help strengthen your family and make it successful?
My husband and I are trying our best to make our family and home a place of love, peace and safety for each of us and our children. It takes time and effort... but I think it is worth it. First, we strive to have a Christ centered home. We study the life of Chirst in our scriptures and Church magazines. We hang pictures of Christ in our home. We try to make choices and act in a way that Christ would like us to. Secondly, we spend time together... working together, attending the kids' activities together, and just try to enjoy each other's company. It's hard at times... I get tired, the kids don't always get a long... but I know that if we keep trying Heavenly Father will provide the blessings and hopefully our family will be strong.
How I live my faith
My faith is who I am. I pray with my family every morning and night. We pray before each meal. I study the scriptures on my own and with my family. I do not drink coffee or alcohol. I get to be a mother and for me that is huge. I get to teach my children that making choices on their own is not only important, but priceless and I get to teach them that the Holy Ghost will help them to know right from wrong.
Currently I serve in the Primary (program for children) at Church. It has been a wonderful experience. Each Sunday the children attend classes (divided up according to age) for about an hour and then we spend about an hour singing songs and teaching them about Christ. I love the opportunity I have to teach these children - I also love the opportunity I have to learn from the children. A few weeks ago we were discussing miracles, and I was amazed and humbled to see how children truly do recognize the miracles in their lives.

Joseph Smith
As is the case throughout history God has communicated to His children through prophets. God used a humble man as a prophet to restore His Church on earth who ultimately died defending His faith.
