Hi, I'm Karl Lewis
I am serving a mission in Houston Texas. I'm a Mormon.
About Me
I grew up in the church. I'm curently serving a mission in Houston, Texas and love sharing the gospel with people.
Why I am a Mormon
My father was not always active in my life so the men in the church steped up and took me camping and fishing and made sure that I knew how a father is supposed to be, so when I get married and have a family I will know what to do.
Personal Stories
the knowledge that i have about the plan of happiness has benefited me by knowing that i will be able to see those loved ones that have passed away. just a few months ago while i was still on my mission i got the call from the mission president that one of my aunts had passed away. i'm not going to lie i sobbed very hard for the rest of the day and into the next day. she was another mother to me. i would go to her house and my cousins and i would do all kinds of little projects with her. she was all ways coming up with something new to do. She also was very loving to any person that came to her house and needed help. a families car had broken down and it was very cold outside and she had them bring the kids into the house so they could stay warm till the car got running again. i know that she is on the other side busy helping those that have not learned about Christ’s gospel and need a loving friend.
What are you doing to help strengthen your family and make it successful?
I'm not married yet so I don't have any kids or anything but I do have a mother and a father and a sister and brother. I help strengthen my family by serving a mission, I have two nephews and I hope to set a good example for them. Even though they are little now I hope that by teaching them how to live their lives in harmony with Christ’s teachings that when they go to school and have all those influences that Satan puts in front of them that they will make the right choices. The world is getting more wicked every day, less and less people believe in Christ and follow his teachings. Right now I’m on a mission so I can’t be with my family but I know that I can pray for them every day and trust in the lord to take care of them right now. When I get home I plan on getting all of them and sitting down every night and read the scriptures and pray. As we listen to the lord and follow his teachings we will be able to live with our family forever after this life and that is what I would call a successful family. To be together as a family after this life.
Please share your feelings/testimony of the Restoration of the Gospel.
The restoration of the gospel has helped my life so much. If we read in the bible it tells of a time when there will be a great falling away from the church that Christ set up while he was on the earth and we can see that happen as we look in the history books when all the apostles where killed after Jesus was crucified. This period of time is also known as the dark ages and we can see how people started breaking off and starting their own churches but none of them claim to be guided by the lord. When Joseph smith had the vision, where he seen god the father and Jesus Christ as two separate people. Joseph was told that by through him Christ’s church would be restored back on the earth in its fullness as when Christ was on the earth. Because the true church was restored back to the earth I have had the opportunity to see the priesthood heal those that are sick. If the church had not been restored the sick would have been healed.
How I live my faith
I live my faith by making sure what I do is in harmony with Christs' teachings.
