About Me

I'm a university student studying Information Systems. I like to be active and really enjoy playing ultimate frisbee and volleyball. Finding good new music that I can share with others is another favorite past-time. Above all else, I really enjoy spending time with my friends and loved ones.

Why I am a Mormon

Living my life by trying to follow the principles and teachings of Jesus Christ has brought me a lot of happiness. I think that my life has been very full and enjoyable because of all the different opportunities that I've had to serve and help other people. Knowing the I have a Heavenly Father who loves and cares for me has comforted me countless times throughout my life. Life would be a lot harder for me without this perspective.

How can your talents and gifts bless others?

Each of us has different talents and skills. I like computers and have gotten to know quite a bit about them. I've had a lot of chances to help other people with any kind of computer problem. I like to think that I was given specific gifts and talents for the sole purpose of helping other people. When Christ was on the earth, He spent all his time serving other people. If we really want to become more like Him then we need to use our talents and gifts to serve others as well. Service brings a lot of happens to others as well as ourselves as we serve.

How I live my faith

Every day I strive to be a better person. Some days I fail. Other days I succeed. I think the most important things is that I am trying. Serving others is an activity that brings me a lot of joy. If I can do something to brighten a person's day, then my own day becomes better.

Why is family so important to Mormons?

The family is the basic unit of society. The solution to society's problems can be solved in the family. I'm so grateful that I had parents who taught me the teachings and principles of Jesus Christ at a young age. I look forward to being able to teach my own children those same principles.

Because family is so important to God. Why do you think God intoduces Christ as His "only begotten SON in whom I am well pleased" and not something more formal like my servant, the Christ? Why in the scriptures is God referred to as "The Father" more than any other title? why is it that naturally we come into this life into a family, whether functional or not? Families are ordained of God. Agency and human nature is what may cause us to believe other wise.
Family ought to be our foundation of education in this life. I've moved around a lot. I've attended many different schools and one thing I've learned is that it is hard to focus on my goals if I don't have a social network providing acceptance and unity. A support group I can lean on and be there to be leaned on at school. It's a miracle that God has provided that support group for the important lessons in life.
If our families aren't what they could be, we can choose individually to be an example and a friend to them as far as possible. practice the principles of repentence and forgiveness. Understanding that our families are meant to be eternal helps us to not allow the small things to obstruct our relationships.

Do Mormons practice polygamy?

We certainly do not. As a Mormon I've constantly been taught about the importance of family and how to strengthen those bonds. My mother and father exemplify the ideal of loving parents and I am so grateful for that loving bond my 5 siblings and I share with our mom and dad. Our faith does not teach, condone, accept, or defend polygamy in any way.
