Audrey: Mormon.

Hi, I'm Audrey

I love music and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a college graduate with a degree in Public Relations. My husband is my best friend. We have a little boy who is the highlight of our lives. I'm enjoying the opportunity to be a mom, even though I have no idea what I'm doing most of the time. I love to sing, travel, camp, waterski, hike, shop, and watch college football. I love all things Hawaiian, from the island down to the pizza. I'm learning to love running and playing the piano. My ideal place to live would be somewhere that has a mountain in my backyard and a beach in the front.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because of the direction it gives my life. I love knowing where I came from, why I'm here on earth, and where I'm going after I die. I am Mormon because of my belief in Jesus Christ. I know He lived, and He still lives. I know this is His church, and He is at its head. He directs this church through a living prophet, just as He did anciently. I am Mormon because I worship God and Jesus Christ. I want to return to God, my Heavenly Father, someday, and it is only through Jesus Christ that I will. I am Mormon because when I learn, study, pray, and exercise faith in this religion, I feel happiness and peace I can't find anywhere else. I am Mormon because I know that by keeping God's commandments that have been outlined in the scriptures and by making special promises with Him in the temple, I can be with my family forever.

Personal Stories

Please explain the part prayer plays in your life?

Prayer is like a telephone-it's our way of communicating with God. He wants us to communicate with Him. He wants to hear about our day, our struggles, our heartaches, our questions, our fears, our joys, etc. We can pray to ask for help, and we can pray to show gratitude for all we've been given. We can pray for faith, for patience, for understanding, for empathy, or for whatever we may need at the time.

My prayers are personal. They are my conversations with God. They are not memorized or recited. I pray to God at least every morning and night, and usually say many small prayers in my heart throughout the day. I pray to God as a way to feel closer to Him. I pray to Him to understand His will for me. Prayer helps me make choices, and it comforts me when I feel alone.

I know that God hears and answers my prayers. Sometimes the answers may not come how I may want, but they always come the way I need them. God knows me better than I know myself. It is through prayer that I learn to know Him better and strengthen my personal relationship with Him.

How I live my faith

I am able to use the talents I have developed to bless the lives of others around me. I share my experiences, faith, and testimony through music as much as possible. A couple of friends and I often sing and speak to youth groups, boys and girls ages 12-18, to help them understand who they are, why they're special, and how much God, their Heavenly Father, loves them. I am also developing and strengthening new talents all the time as I serve in the church. Right now I play the piano and lead music on Sundays in Relief Society--the women's organization in our church. I also teach a class of young people ages 12-14 about church history.
