Hi, I'm Bret
I'm a musician. I'm a college professor. I'm a Mormon.
About Me
I teach music at a small university in the Southern United States. I play and teach music for a living, and come home to my sweet wife of three years.
We live in a part of the country where there aren't a lot of Mormons, and we drive an hour each way to go to church. It's worth it.
Why I am a Mormon
There are lots of churches out there, and it can be confusing to decide where to go—or whether it really matters. But the scriptures tell us that the Holy Spirit will guide and direct each of us when we are sincerely seeking the truth.
I'm a Mormon—a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints—because the Spirit has shown to me that the things taught there are true. Each week when I attend church I experience the peace and joy that are the fruits of the Spirit, and I know that I have made the right choice.
How I live my faith
Following Christ is more than just going to Sunday services. He set an example of giving love and service to everyone He met. I know that when I am serving other people, I am serving Him.

Joseph Smith
As is the case throughout history God has communicated to His children through prophets. God used a humble man as a prophet to restore His Church on earth who ultimately died defending His faith.
