Hi, I'm Aubrie
I love genealogy, neuroscience, and cross-country skiing. I'm a people person, a hard worker, and a goofy gal. I'm a Mormon.
About Me
I am passionate about three things: the gospel of Jesus Christ, family history, and learning languages. I speak French and am currently learning Spanish. Watching movies and playing board games with my family are two of my favorite past times. I enjoy biking and hiking, and I'm currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Psychology.
Why I am a Mormon
I was priveleged to be born to wonderful parents who are strong in the gospel. My mom joined the church when she was 15 and has always been my strongest example of faith and courage even in the face of terrible adversity. I trust my parents, but I didn't just take their word for it that the church is true. I found out for myself when I was 14 years old bearing my testimony of Joseph Smith in front of 1200 people. Like Joseph, I have tried to continue faithfully in what I know to be right. He said, "I knew it, and I knew that God knew it, and I could not deny it."

Why do Mormons do family history or genealogy work?
Family is the central institution that God has created for us to find joy and knowledge in this world. The church does all it can to emphasize family unity and love in the home, but it also provides a way for us to discover our heritage and find out about those who made it possible for us to come to this earth. In learning about my family, I learn about myself.
We believe that families are eternal and that through the Priesthood, the power of God on earth, we can be linked to our ancestors and posterity througout the ages. In holy temples, we perform the ordinances of salvation for those who have gone before us so that they can have the opportunity to choose to come closer to God as they await their eternal home. Truly through the blessing of the temples, families can be together forever.
How I live my faith
My favorite hobby is certainly something I thought I would never be interested in until my later years: family history. I love researching the lives of my ancestors and the appreciation this knowledge gives me for their role in my progression to living the life I do today. I love the temple and the ability I have to spend time there with my family doing the work and serving the God that I love.
I also love spending time with youth and young adults and helping them in whatever capacity I am able, whether it be camping in the wilderness or planning activities to strengthen their faith and love for one another.
