About Me

Hi, A bit about me...I am a wife and homemaker, mother to eight married children, grandmother to 20 grandchildren and great grandmother to one.
I love music, have sung the leads in several musicals. I love to cook and bake, sew quilts and little girl dresses, decorate my home, ride our horses, be with my family. Serve in my church, be ever so grateful for all the blessing given to me.

Why I am a Mormon

I am so grateful to have been born into this church, it is the greatest blessing of my life. I feel so grateful to live on this beautiful earth that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ created and to be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. This has been such a blessing and Heavenly guide as I have lived my life. The church with all it's paths of growth has lead me to be a happy person. Even living in a world filled with stormy times, I can know the right path to go to find happiness.
I know, I know, that Jesus Christ is real and so is our Heavenly Father. I know that they have a sweet plan of happiness for us to follow that will bring us the greatest joy now and in the life to come. I am so thankful for a living prophet that guides us to know the right way to go. If I had nothing else in this life but this true church and the knowledge it gives to me, to show me the right way, I would be the happiest woman on earth, and I am happy.

Personal Stories

Which of the Savior’s teachings have influenced you in your life?

The Savior said for us to Love One Another...As I have raised a large family and been through trials and struggles in my life, I have learned that this is true. It is the greatest of truths, for in the end that is the way in all the paths of our lives...just to simple love one another. Follow the Saviors example, he is love and we need to do as he did...love.

In what ways have your prayers been answered?

I know God hears and answers my prayers, sometimes right away, sometimes in a little while, but he always does hear and answer.
Sometimes answers come loud and clear, and sometimes I have to seek a bit harder to hear. I do know that the best way for me is to say "Whatever is thy will is my will too." I know he will always do what is best for me.
Recently, I had to be life-flighted to a city four hours away from me for emergency help, it was so scary but I said that to him...whatever is thy will...I am here and I have more to do to fulfill my mission on this earth, I am so grateful for his tender care.
My whole life has been filled with his blessings to me...I know my prayers have always been answered.

How I live my faith

I live my life by finding happiness in serving my Heavenly Father. Serving my family is my greatest joy. I also have served children and the youth all my life. This has brought me the greatest joy! I love being with the youth, I feel it is a blessing to me to be with them. They are so strong as they live in this crazy world and I so admire and love the. The future is in their good hands and it will be fine.
I also go home/visiting teaching to people in my ward or area, it is a blessing to be a friend and to serve where there is a need.
Serving in this church blesses me, it makes me feel close to my Heavenly Father and it helps me to really love others...this is happiness.

What do Mormons believe about family?

Mormons believe that families are eternal, that in the next life we can be together forever. This life is not all there is for us and our families. We can go on loving and being loved, being together in strong family bonds forever. I know this is true.

The family is a key component to support us in God's plan for gaining immortality and eternal life. All of God's children (all the inhabitants that lived, are living, and will live on Earth) are inseperably connected to each other, both (physically) by our Earthly families and (spiritually) by our Heavenly Father.

Families help us to understand our divine heritage. In this, life takes on purpose and meaning. Our immortal spirits were created by our Heavenly Father before Earthly existance, and we are directly connected to Him in this way. As a spiritual family, our collective purpose on Earth is to follow the commandments of God that lead us to live in heaven with Him again.

Our spirits need to progress, learn, and grow. In order to achieve that, Earthly existance was created as our test. Our Heavenly Father knew that being exposed to opposing forces on Earth was the only way for us to gain knowledge and wisdom.

However, we will not always choose righteousness, and so our Savior, Jesus Christ, is that great mediator to pay the debt of our mistakes. He is the only way by which we can be saved from our sins and transgressions. He is the ultimate example by which direction we need to live our lives. With the support of our earthly kin, we can learn from each other, serve each other, and strengthen our mortal weaknesses by being disciples of Christ. Our families are a gift from God, and we can be together forever.

What is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints' attitude regarding homosexuality and same sex marriage?

Mormons believe that we are commanded to love all people as sons and daughters of God, regardless of age, sex, race, or sexual orientation. However, we believe that homosexual behavior is a serious sin and in direct violation with the commandments of God. We believe that marriage, between a man and a woman, is ordained of God.
