About Me

I love being a member of the church. I recently returned from my mission. I served in the California Roseville Mission. It was such a joy to serve the people of California and the Lord. I love to play sports especially basketball. I am currently playing college basketball at Western Wyoming. I love to go 4-Wheeling and snowmobiling. I love to spend time with my family and friends.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because the Gospel brings me joy and comfort. I am so grateful for the restored church on the earth. I love the standards that the church encourages me to live. It helps me make better decisions in life. I am grateful for the gift of the Holy Ghost. The Holy Ghost helps me and guides me in life. He gives me feelings of direction and comfort. I love being a Mormon.

How has the Book of Mormon brought you closer to God?

I have read the Book of Mormon numerous times and I am so grateful for the comfort I receive when I read. When I read I feel the Savior's love for me and I continue to learn more about Him and what He did for us and human beings. By reading the Book of Mormon I have came to know that Joseph Smith is a Prophet of God and that he restored the true church on the earth once more never to be taken away. The Book of Mormon answers questions of the soul that help me with my life. The Book of Mormon is true.

How I live my faith

I love doing service. The church is very proactive in the communities to help out. I love going out and helping. I love teaching the Gospel to others.

What is the Word of Wisdom that Mormons talk about?

The Word of Wisdom is a health law. It is a Revelation given to the Prophet Joseph Smith in 1833. Joseph Smith's wife Emma had some questions about the behavior of some of the brethren and she asked Joseph to pray about it. Joseph Smith received an answer and it is the Word of Wisdom. I personally have a testimony of the Word of Wisdom. As I have lived the Word of Wisdom, the Lord has blessed me with great health and I have been able to play in all my basketball games in high school and college. The Word of Wisdom instructs us to stay away from Drugs, Alcohol, Tobacco, Coffee, and Tea. It also instructs us to eat healthy foods like vegetables, fruits, grains, and meats. So pretty much the food pyramid we have today.

The word of wisdom is the Lord's law of health. We abstain from drugs, tobacco, alcohol, coffee, and tea, and are encouraged to eat wholesome food and grains, and not eat excessive meat. I am asked all of the time by my fellow residents at the hospital why I don't drink coffee, and how I can stay awake all night on call without it. I don't consider it a sacrifice, though, and am as awake and perform as well as any. It is true that the body will be more healthy when following the word of wisdom, the but the main benefit is spiritual. The knowledge that you are in line with the the Lord's teaching is the most important thing.

Do Mormons practice polygamy?

No. Mormons do NOT practice polygamy. There are many people outside the Church that say otherwise, but that doesn't change the truth of the matter.

There is nobody living on this earth right now who can truly claim to be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints who practices polygamy. It is against the law, both of the land and of the Church. We do not approve of such things.

There are some groups of people who do practice this and also claim to be Mormons, but I assure you that they are not in any way affiliated with this Church.
