Hi, I'm Kieffer
I grew up in Tennessee, Served a mission in Brazil, I've found a source of eternal happiness, and I'm a Mormon.
About Me
I was born in Provo, Utah to young and wild parents who were beginning their life. I shared a birth date with a very special man, my twin brother. I love him very much, for he was humble enough to open up his very special day to include me. He was also loving enough to give me all of the necessary nutrients that I desired in the womb of my mother, while to the contrary, he got just the bare necessities. Thus you see why I have blue eyes, clean skin, and a full head of hair, when my brother has brown eyes, a high metabolism, freckled white skin, and a receding hair-line. It's a sacrifice he made for me. Knowingly or not, and I love him for it. We're connected because of it.
Soon after our births, we moved to Colorado where my parents were divorced. The full reasons aren't really that important, but it is necessary to know that for a 21 year-old young man, it's not a touchy subject for me. It's actually quite a beautiful subject. I love my two parents very much. They just made some choices that they shouldn't have that caused their unfortunate divorce. Today, they are both remarried, happy, successful, and because of their choices then, I am the person I am today. I wouldn't have had it any other way. I'm content and actually quite glad.
After my parents' divorce, my mom met a man at her place of study. A man who had dreams to be a country music star. That is how we landed in Music City. Luckily though, my father, due to some heavy promptings, abandoned his dream to spend more time with his family. I could never be grateful enough for that.
During my earlier education, I discovered my creative intuition. I poked my finger into the marketing pie, and found the Graphic Design filling. It was very delicious then, and it took me to state and national competitions, winning me scholarships and the confidence I needed to make my career decisions early. It was a blessing, and I thank the people personally who helped me to get there. It'll be quite the adventure in the future.
On December 4th, 2008, I started a journey that has yet to end here in Brazil. A journey that has changed my life ever so drastically. I reported for a 2-year mission in the country of Brazil which up until today has required ever part of my heart and soul. It has been hard. And tiring. But my time is not yet up. On the 24th of November, I shall once again step foot on American soil and smell the sweet southern air that fills young men's spirits with courage and love.
I have ambitious goals for my arrival that include writing a book, attending one of the most highly-esteemed universities in the world, marrying my very best friend, who also happens to be the most beautiful girl in the world. It's all very exciting, and I can't wait to take it on.
Why I am a Mormon
I believe in the perfectness of God's plan. I believe in His love and it's infinite and unlimited power. And I believe in how they connect. Our Heavenly Father incorporated His love into His plan, making one of the most sacred gifts, an eternal gift. The family.
The family is an infinite source of help and love a place where I can find answers to my question, guidance in my decisions, and strength for my soul. I is a place inspired by God.
I believe and know that my Heavenly Father wouldn't have given me the family that I have, if it wasn't supposed to last. And that's what I hold on to. I love my family very much, and I plan to be with them for all eternity. As a family. I feel the truth in that, and it's one of the principle reasons why I am a Mormon.
Personal Stories
Can you talk about the missions of the Church and your participation in them?
Nearly two years ago, I embarked on an adventure that, as I previously have said, changed my life forever. I was called to serve in the Brazil Recife Mission, as a full-time missionary speaking Portuguese. And I'm one of tens of thousands.
One day, as my companion and I sat down with a rather intelligent man named Ronaldo, we began to fill his curiosity with the wonders of God and His plan. As we moved into the importance of Prophets, I began the telling the history of a boy named Joseph. If you don't know or aren't familiar, He was visited by God himself, and the Living Son Jesus Christ in a sacred apparition. A moment that changed the world forever. As I told the story in Joseph Smith's words and explained the power of the Book of Mormon while holding it in my hands, I began to cry. I felt something within me that after a years of being a member of the Church I had rarely felt. It was warm and comforting, and testified of the truthfulness of my words.
Ronaldo looked at me with watery eyes and said "I know this is true. Because I see it in your eyes and the way you hold that book. What you are doing is the most important thing anyone could ever possibly doing right now. Spreading this beautiful message." Three weeks later he was baptized and now is a faithfully attending member.
I love Ronaldo, for he taught me more than I could have ever taught him. He showed me the importance of missionaries in the world. How it takes simple genuine actions and not just powerful words to really see the truthfulness of the Gospel. I know that missionary work is crucial to God's perfect plan.
How I live my faith
There's a simple principle of the Gospel of Jesus Christ that the World itself in it's beautiful and magnificent existence has taught us. The need for a Savior. We know that God requires all of us. 100%. Perfection. To enter into his presence, we need to be clean and free of sin.
We also know that that is not humanly possible.
I make a daily reminder to myself that my Heavenly Father provided me with a Savior. Someone to save me from my imperfections and my humanity. God's only begotten son Jesus Christ, who died for my sins and transgressions and made it possible for us, Him and I, to complete the 100% that simply is not possible alone. I love him, He loves me, and that love is the source of my happiness and strength. It's that kind of love that helps me live my faith daily.

Joseph Smith
As is the case throughout history God has communicated to His children through prophets. God used a humble man as a prophet to restore His Church on earth who ultimately died defending His faith.
