Hi, I'm Megan
I am a stay at home Mother. I love babies, the color pink and going for walks.
About Me
I'm a stay at home Mother of four children, including identical twins boys. My daughter is 9, my twin boys are 7 and my youngest boy is 5 years old. I love to blog, swim, play the piano, write poetry, play with my children, volunteer in the schools, be on the PTA, take care of our pet snake and be a good friend, Mother and Wife.
I am from California, from a family of nine and my Mother is a convert to the Church. I served a mission for the Church in Spain and loved it. I love that I can speak Spanish fluently. I taught 3rd grade for a year and loved it. We recently moved from Maryland after living there for 4 years to Arizona and we love it here!
While in Maryland, I was diagnosed with Bipolar disorder. I have been humbled from that experience and with the help of a good medication I have been able to lead a healthy, normal life style.
I am healthy. I am happy. My name is Megan and I am a Mormon.
Why I am a Mormon
I grew up Mormon. My Mom converted from Catholicism when she was in her 20's and my Dad comes from a long line of faithful members, including the pioneers and one of the 70's. When I was 15 years old, I gained a testimony for myself of the truth of the Book of Mormon and the Church of Jesus Christ by praying about it and asking God if it was true. In Moroni 10:4-5 we read "And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost.
5 And by the power of the Holy Ghost ye may know the btruth of all things."
I did ask and did receive an answer in the form of a great peace and happiness. I went on to serve an eighteen month mission in Northern Spain when I turned 21. I loved it. I got married in the temple to a wonderful man and we now have four beautiful children. I know that Jesus lives, that He loves us, that He died for us that we may return to live with Him again. It is only by coming to Him that we can gain our salvation and our eternal life. And I am grateful to be baptized a member of His true Church in these Latter-Days.
Personal Stories
Can you talk about the missions of the Church and your participation in them?
I served a Mission for the Church in Bilbao, Spain. It was for a year and a half and I had to learn the Spanish language. I loved it. I loved talking with the Spanish people every day. I loved seeing their faces, eating their food I gained 30 pounds and being a part of their culture. I loved seeing people read the Book of Mormon and gain testimonies of it. I hope to go back some day.
Why do Mormons go on missions?
We go on missions to bring Joy and Happiness to those around us. The Church has brought us such Happiness that we feel an obligation to share that joy. If you had a cookie, wouldn't you want to share it with others?
How I live my faith
I live my faith every day. I read my scriptures individually and as a family. I pray and have family prayer. I serve in the Church. I play the piano. I am just going to start working with the wolves in the Cub Scouts. I am excited!
I volunteer in my children's classrooms at school. I am part of a MOPS club and love being a part of a group of Mothers who work hard at raising their children right.
I, along with another woman, visit two women monthly in their homes. We chat and laugh and we give a spiritual message.
We do family night each Monday, where we teach our children the Gospel, sing, pray, play games and eat treats. We have fun learning and growing at the same time.
I try to set an example of faith to my children and teach them on a daily basis. When questions arise, I love being being to teach my children about where they came from, why there are here and where they will go why they die.
