About Me

I am a mom of a two young children. I am currently working on becoming a birth doula and childbirth educator. I enjoy baking, yoga, reading good books, and dancing with my husband.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been attending the LDS Church my whole life, but I am a mormon because I have prayed and felt in my heart that the LDS Church is the Lord's true church on the earth today. I know that through the loving sacrifice of Jesus Christ, we can be forgiven of all the mistakes and sins in our lives and return to God's presence after this life.

Personal Stories

How has the Book of Mormon brought you closer to God?

The Book of Mormon shows me that God loves His children in all nations. I come to know Him better by reading the words he writes to all His people. The Book of Mormon is a beautifully powerful and uplifting book and so many of the people in it are great examples to me of how to follow Him better.

How can your talents and gifts bless others?

I have always had a passion for learning, and I feel that the Lord has blessed me with a gift for explaining things. At this time, I feel that the Lord needs me to use this gift to help other women be informed and supported.

How I live my faith

In my daily life, I strive to help my children learn to know Jesus Christ and His Gospel. I am also on a committee for planning church activities where families can come together in friendship and enjoy life together.

What is the Church’s position on abortion?

This is an important issue to me as a woman. I think it is important to explain that we don't view being against abortion as "anti-choice," we just see the choice differently. We believe that making the choice to have intercourse, even if you do use contraception since all methods have failure rates, should mean you accept that a potential result of that choice could be pregnancy. The church exempts cases where women did not consent to the intercourse from it's policy against abortion. It also exempts cases where the life of the mother is threatened by continuing the pregnancy. We don't know exactly at what point a spirit enters the body of a child, but we feel that the beginnings of human life are sacred.

Parenting is a gift from, and a partnership with, God. There are rare circumstances where, with the approprobation of God, there might be a reason to terminate a pregnancy. But that's a decision to made only after much prayer and both medical and ecclesiastical counseling. The larger principle here is that joy comes of making God a full partner in marriage, and of bringing children into the world within the bounds of marriage.

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Yes, I truly believe there is a prophet today leading our church and bringing blessings into the world. Why would God provide a prophet in olden days, but not now? Did He love those people more than He loves us? Did they need guidance more than we do? Is the world less confusing now than it was then? The answers to all these questions are no. It only makes sense that God would have a prophet now as He did in days of old. He loves us just as much as He did those people long ago and we need Him just as much as they needed Him then.
