About Me

I enjoy spending time with my family, playing board games, being a mom, gardening, doing service projects, and participating in my church. I taught elementary school until my husband and I had a little son. Now I get to read to and play with our little boy each day. It's the best.

Why I am a Mormon

I love being a Mormon! Whenever I read the scriptures, pray, or go to church, I feel good inside. I feel the Spirit and know my Heavenly Father loves me. The gospel of Jesus Christ brings me and my family closer together and helps me have more peace in my life.

I'm so grateful for Joseph Smith. Through him Jesus Christ was able to restore the true church and bring the gospel to us in these days.

How has the Holy Ghost helped you?

The Holy Ghost gives me promptings to do something for another person. It helps me get or stay out of situations that could be bad. It also helps me understand gospel truths.

What has helped develop greater harmony in your home?

Our family prays and reads scriptures together each night which gives us time to be together while drawing closer to Christ. We make time to be together as a family each week to learn about the gospel and to have fun together. We also eat dinner together each night which gives us a chance to talk and build relationships.

In what ways have your prayers been answered?

Whenever I have a decision to make or need to feel the love of my Heavenly Father, I can pray and He gives me direction through impressions or through a warm, comforting feeling from the Spirit.

How I live my faith

I had the opportunity to be a missionary in Chile and teach the wonderful people there about the gospel of Jesus Christ. Now I get to continue teaching people the gospel by visiting other women in the church where I live and helping them in any way. I also get to work with the children at church by playing the piano during our singing time where we sing songs about the gospel. In addition, I like to do service projects through the church's Humanitarian Center which help out people in need throughout the world.

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

The Atonement is all of the suffering, pain, and death Christ went through so He could take our sins upon Him and forgive us from our sins. Because of the Atonement He can also understand our suffering so He can help us overcome and feel comforted in our trials.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

We don't worship Joseph Smith. Although we recognize that our faith hinges on whether or not he was a prophet of God, we only worship God, the Father and his Son, Jesus Christ. We honor and respect Joseph Smith in the same way we do Moses, Abraham, or any of the ancient prophets.
