About Me

I love to play the piano. I also like to swim. I swam for my school swim team when I was in high school. I'm currently a missionary serving in the Texas Lubbock Mission. I love it so much! When I return home, I plan to go to school to be a pharmacist.

Why I am a Mormon

Some might say the reason I'm a Mormon is because I was born into that church and I stay with it out of tradition. I'm here to say that that is simply not true. Many people who are born into this church leave for various reasons.
I am a member because of the spirit that I feel when I am doing the Lord's work. It just feels right! I am a member because I have had a personal witness of it's truthfulness. I have found that I am truly happy when I follow His gospel. The momentary "thrill" of disobedience always leaves me worse than I was before.
Simply put, I love everything about Jesus Christ and His gospel, that's why I'm a Mormon.

Why do Mormons go on missions?

We go on missions to bring other people to the knowledge of the Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ. We love to share the gospel and serving a mission is an excellent opportunity to do so.

How has your knowledge of the Plan of Happiness changed/benefited your life?

This knowledge helped me greatly when my grandfather whom I was very close to passed away. Knowing that families are forever and that I will see him again helped me get through that tough time. Although I still miss him, it brings me great joy to know that his mortal death is not the end.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by my daily actions. I am currently serving the church as a missionary which makes living my faith easy. I help others increase their faith in Jesus Christ.

Are Mormons Christians?

The official name of this church is "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints." The definition of a Christian is "a person who believes in Jesus Christ; [an] adherent of Christianity" (dictionary.com) Since this is the the church of Jesus Christ, then yes, Mormons are defiantly Christians. Mormons believe in Jesus Christ as the Only Begotten Son of the Father, the Savior and Redeemer of the World, and that only through Him, we may be saved in the Kingdom of God.

I love this question. Having lived in Georgia and having spent time creating friendships with people of all different Christian denominations. I can say with great confidence and vigor that, Yes, Mormons are Christians. All who believe in Christ as our Savior and strive to follow in his footsteps, living as he would have us to, are in definitions Christian or followers of Christ.

What do Mormons believe happens after we die?

We were so very sad when our very special eleven year old grandson died in 2009. He suffered from life threatening asthma from birth and was often in hospital. He caught a virus which attacked his heart causing it to go into a dangerous rhythm, which eventually stopped his heart. Every attempt was made to save him but to no avail. The night he died, I thought I might die too - I was so overcome with grief. I was grieving not only for him but for our daughter and her family too. I received enormous comfort from my family and friends, especially those in the church and the outpouring of love and support was indescribable. However, the most comfort I received was my knowledge that I absolutely knew that we would see him again in the next life and that our family would be together forever in the eternities. I was also comforted to know that our grandson would be free from his health problems and be able to have peace. Even though I miss him terribly, I know he is happy and with Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. I feel his spirit around me often. I know with total conviction that the Lord has unconditionally supported all of our family through this trial and continues to do so daily.
