About Me

I am a 22 year old student trying to figure out what I want to do when I grow up. I love all types of sports and being outdoors. I also like reading books and watching movies. I have not met many foods that I did not like. I really enjoy going for a run in the morning while listening to music.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Church and I can say I don't think I ever didn't believe the church to be true,but I really think serving a mission helped solidify the truths I knew. I have had to read the Book of Mormon and pray about its truthfulness. I have seen the blessings of following the teachings of the Gospel. Mostly, I have felt the love of a patient and kind Heavenly Father. I know He sent His son to earth for us, for me. I know that Jesus Christ suffered all things for me personally. He loves us all so much. He asks us to be obedient because He loves us and knows how we can be truly happy. That happiness is a choice that each of us can make.

Why do Mormons go on missions?

I served a mission because Iove my Heavenly Father and want everyone else to feel of God's love for them. The church has been such a blessing for me in my life and I wanted to share that blessing with others.

How I live my faith

I attend church every Sunday. I read the scriptures every day and seek to communicate with my Heavenly Father as often as I can. I also seek to be a friend to as many people as I can be. I have been blessed to be a teacher in the church for several classes and enjoy that very much. I also enjoy getting together with my family or friends on Monday night to talk about the Gospel, enjoy a snack, and play games.

What do Mormons believe about family?

Families are so important. I believe that my family and I will be together forever. I have been blessed to not have lost too many family members but I know that I will again be able to see those I have lost. Families are and have always been the center of a society. That is where parents teach children important lessons from, how to eat and how to read, to how to get along with people.

The family is a key component to support us in God's plan for gaining immortality and eternal life. All of God's children (all the inhabitants that lived, are living, and will live on Earth) are inseperably connected to each other, both (physically) by our Earthly families and (spiritually) by our Heavenly Father.

Families help us to understand our divine heritage. In this, life takes on purpose and meaning. Our immortal spirits were created by our Heavenly Father before Earthly existance, and we are directly connected to Him in this way. As a spiritual family, our collective purpose on Earth is to follow the commandments of God that lead us to live in heaven with Him again.

Our spirits need to progress, learn, and grow. In order to achieve that, Earthly existance was created as our test. Our Heavenly Father knew that being exposed to opposing forces on Earth was the only way for us to gain knowledge and wisdom.

However, we will not always choose righteousness, and so our Savior, Jesus Christ, is that great mediator to pay the debt of our mistakes. He is the only way by which we can be saved from our sins and transgressions. He is the ultimate example by which direction we need to live our lives. With the support of our earthly kin, we can learn from each other, serve each other, and strengthen our mortal weaknesses by being disciples of Christ. Our families are a gift from God, and we can be together forever.

What is being a Mormon like?

Being a Mormon is just like being anyone else. We eat, sleep, go to work, vote, date, marry, etc. There are, of course, things that we don't do such as drink or smoke, see explicit films or pictures, but I think that helps us become better people. By avoiding temptations we're able to live happier, fuller lives while still enjoying those things that God put us on Earth to enjoy. We were placed on this Earth to be happy and, for me, that's what being a Mormon is like-being happy.
