Hi, I'm Ginger
I'm a wife, I'm a mother, I'm a Mormon.
About Me
I'm a wife and I'm a mother of 5 wonderful children. I also work full-time as the book keeper at a retail chain. I love to scrapbook, make cards, cross-stitch and in general-craft. We are also currently remodeling our home, which is an on-going, never ending process. I'm just your average "person next door" who is trying to raise healthy, well-mannered children in a world full of confusion and turmoil.
We have had 10 different addresses in 4 different states in our 16 years of marriage. You could say that I met my husband in kindergarten, but I don't remember him. We grew up in a small town in southeastern Idaho and attended the same schools from kindergarten until graduation. Our first date was our senior prom. After my husband earned his college degree, we moved with our 2 daughters to Oregon. Eight years and three more children later, we moved to Wyoming. A few short months later, we ended up moving to Montana. I hope we get to stay here!
Why I am a Mormon
I was born and raised as a Mormon, but that doesn't mean that I'm just "following tradition". I believe that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints teaches us the way to live a full and happy life. By following my Savior, Jesus Christ, I can be a better wife, mother, daughter, employee, neighbor, friend and person.
Personal Stories
How can your talents and gifts bless others?
There have been times in my life when I have not felt like I had any talents. I don't sing well, I don't do ballet or dance beautifully, I can't play a musical instrument. But, as I have gotten older and hopefully wiser, I can see that EVERYONE has talents or special gifts given from our Heavenly Father.
I can bake and share the yummy goodness with others. I can scrapbook and preserve memories for the future. I can do several other crafts to beautify my home or to give as gifts to my friends and neighbors. I can understand what I read in the scriptures and explain this to others. By focusing my energy on what I CAN do, rather on what I can't, I feel better about myself and can help someone else.
How I live my faith
I am currently serving in my ward in the nursery. This is a class for children ages 18 months to 3 years old. We learn songs and stories about Jesus, play with toys, color pictures, eat a snack, build and knock down block towers and blow/pop bubbles!
This summer I also had the privledge of attending "girls camp" with my oldest daughters. Girls camp is an opportunity for girls age 12-18 to spend a few days in nature, build friendships, learn more about Jesus Christ and strengthen each other. For the last 2 years I have been able to spend several wonderful days with 100+ young ladies as the "craft leader". What's that? Only the best thing on earth! I get to take a vacation from my job and spend all day making crafts! Can you think of a better way for an avid crafter to spend 3-5 days in the summer? I can't!
My husband and I also try to teach our children to serve others. Simply holding the door for the next person entering a building can be service. We try to teach by example and let our children help with these activities. While I attended camp with our oldest daughters, my husband took the youngest 3 children to help with a community clean-up project at our local events center. The children were so excited to wear the yellow "Mormon Helping Hands" vests, that they didn't object to picking up debris from a recent tornado!
