Joyce: music, teacher, grandmother, secretary, boating, pianist, Mormon.

Hi, I'm Joyce

I'm a Mormon. I've been a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints all my life and I love it!

About Me

I am the mother of four children - two boys and two girls - and the grandmother of nine and soon-to-be ten fantastic grandchildren. My husband and I are "empty-nesters" and I work full time as a Department Secretary in a local university. I love spending time with my family, boating, running 5-Ks, working on my computer, and playing the piano.

Why I am a Mormon

The Gospel of Jesus Christ brings such joy in my life, especially as I try to live the teachings of the Savior and serve others in my ward, neighborhood and workplace. I love the association of others who are also trying to keep the commandments and raise their families with such good values.

Personal Stories

How can your talents and gifts bless others?

I've been trained as a school teacher and taught in public schools for several years. I was able to stay home with my children when they were young and help them so much with their studies. I've used my music training to serve in my ward, both directing music and accompanying the congregation during meetings and the ward choir during their practices and performances.

How I live my faith

One of my ward callings is acting as secretary in the Relief Society. It gives me a chance to really get to know and love the sisters in our ward. Another calling I have is to produce and send a weekly email to the ward members with announcements and information they can use in their families. I always include an appropriate joke on the last page - many people have commented that they look for that first!
