Hi, I'm Kari
I'm the second of 7 children. I'm interested in family history. I'm a Mormon.
About Me
I'm working on a bachelor's degree in music and business. I love to read. I've visited most of the U.S., and hope to get every state sometime.
Why I am a Mormon
I was born into the church and my family is very active, but I absolutely know for myself that the gospel is true and my testimony gets stronger all the time. I need the gospel, and the church needs me.
Personal Stories
How does making right choices help us make more right choices?
As a simple example: one night my sister wouldn't eat her dinner, so she wasn't allowed to leave the table. After she sat there for a while, I explained to her that the reason eating her dinner was the right choice was because if she ate it she could leave and go do something else she needed or wanted to do, but if she kept refusing to eat, she wasn't allowed to do anything else in the world. The right choice is the choice that lets us keep making choices. When we make a wrong choice, our choices become limited until we must do a particular thing, and we have no choice. The goal in life is to always choose what will give us the greatest amount of "next" choices to make.
How I live my faith
I've always taught and directed church music in a bunch of places where I lived, but I've taught other things as well to various groups, from little kids to older adults. I visit some of the women in my ward once a month to teach them more about the gospel, and help them with whatever they need that I can do.
I've been interested in genealogy since I was little, and my family is very important to me. Anything I do with my parents or siblings is an opportunity to show what I believe.
