Pamela: Mormon.

Hi, I'm Pamela

I work with homeless students and immigrant families and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

When my four children were younger, I became a nationally published humor columnist, writing about their antics. I love to write, to read and to spend time with my husband and children. Our youngest daughter was born after having a stroke in the womb and so I became an advocate for special needs children. Life gives us challenges that help us grow and stretch and become who we're supposed to become.

Why I am a Mormon

I choose to live my life according to the plan that my Heavenly Father and His Son Jesus Christ laid out for us here on earth. I'm a Mormon because I know if I live worthily, I can be with my family for eternity.

Personal Stories

Please share your feelings/testimony of the Restoration of the Gospel.

I know that the gospel of Jesus Christ has been restored in it's fullness here on earth. I have felt that still small voice within my heart, testifying to me of the truth I've learned. As I read the scriptures, I feed my soul and as I fall to my knees in prayer I know that my Father in heaven is there to listen to me. I am His daughter. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet and I know that we have a living prophet here on earth today.

How does making right choices help us make more right choices?

I truly believe that as you make right choices you become stronger and better able to make future choices that are in harmony with the gospel. I liken it to if I get up in the morning and start my day off with a doughnut or some ice cream. I pretty much feel icky the remainder of the day and I'm less likely to make good food choices later on. When I make better choices in my morning, it gives me the strength to continue making better decisions later in the day.

Making good choices puts you on the road to more good choices and keeps you moving in the right direction.

How I live my faith

When I was 21, I gave a year and a half of my life to live in Venezuela and teach the people there about the gospel. At the moment think I have the best job in the entire church--I teach the Sunbeams! The Sunbeams are the three year old's that have just graduated from the nursery on Sundays and now they're mine. Each Sunday I enjoy their bright eyed-honesty and exuberant smiles as I teach them the simple truths of the gospel. I've led our women's groups, I've taught various classes and served on many committees, but there's nothing better than spending a few hours each Sunday with my little angels.
