Justin: Mormon.

Hi, I'm Justin

I'm from California. I love my family, my country and my religion.

About Me

I am a father of three young children who tries to do my best in all aspects of life. I enjoy my career as an optometrist and love helping others wherever I can. I love sports and home improvement projects.

Why I am a Mormon

The church has always been a part of my life because my parents are members. Growing up, I went with them to church, and I always felt safe and comfortable there. It felt different than the feelings I had at other places like school. When I turned 16, I decided that I should to know for myself if it was all true. So I read and studied the Book of Mormon, and then I knelt down and asked God if it was true. As I did, an overwhelming feeling of peace came to me and a thought came into my head. I thought, "Of course, you have always known this was true!" Then I immediately began to think of all of the evidences in my lifetime for knowing it was true. It just all made sense from that day on. Now, over 20 years have passed and I continue to have the same feelings and every day I see more evidence that it is true.

Personal Stories

What have you done successfully to shield your family from unwanted influences?

We are very careful with media influences, such as television and internet. We make sure that we know the ratings on every show we watch to make sure that our children will not be exposed to inappropriate images or language. For the internet, we have filters that decrease the chance of finding immoral influences.

Please explain the part prayer plays in your life?

As communication with Heavenly Father, prayer strengthens my faith and allows me to feel comfort when I need to be uplifted. It is also a time to ponder on the blessings I have in life and to recognize ways to improve myself. As I pray I feel thankful for the things that God gives me and I have a desire to help others.

How can your talents and gifts bless others?

God knows us and our situations. He knows our family, friends, and others we associate with. As such, he knows their strengths and weaknesses. Our talents and gifts can be a strength to these individuals for they can make up for others' weaknesses.

How does making right choices help us make more right choices?

When we choose the right we feel at peace and usually are able to see the blessings that enter our life. This gives us courage to continue making good decisions.

How I live my faith

Every day I wake up with a desire to do what my Heavenly Father wants me to do. Throughout the day, I am faced with many choices which test my resolve to stay true to what I believe. But when I pause in these moments of decision, and think of my Savior, and what He would do, I get the courage to make the right choice. This makes me happier in life and more able to help others in need.
